"Upon entering the restaurant I was surprised by the cooked meat hanging but I able to move past that, however the cashier was rude. I ordered shrimp lo mein which I thought was pretty safe and basic. I was surprised by the cost $18.00 however I expected it to be good, was I wrong! For $18.00 I expected the shrimp to at least be large and they were almost popcorn sized. The taste was kind of bland and to add to this they did not put any condiments in the bag which most restaurants do, especially for $18.00. My suggestion is to avoid this place!!"

"I went with my boyfriend for the first time, and was happy they offered a limited dim sum menu at night! They even modified their honey pine nut shrimp to walnuts for us. The service was exceptional from everyone that touched the table."

"This place can be hit or miss depending on what time of the day you arrive, how busy they are, who your server is, and what you order. All the stars would need to line up to have a great experience. My suggestion is to avoid having high expectations, and just come for the food. Fish fillet with preserved egg and Chinese parsley: - tasted very light, healthy, and has that homemade feel to it - has slight savory taste to it. I'm not too sure what the base is, but I'd I had to guess I'd say either chicken or pork judging from the oil sitting on the top of the soup. - big pieces of fish - portion is enough for 4 bowls - great during the cold weather and is filling when shared between two people Dumpling noodle soup: - light tasting broth - the dumplings are basically wontons with a crunch to them. They are a bit on the smaller side - the vegetables seem to vary depending on what the restaurant has in stock. It used to come with bok choi, but it came with cabbage this time around - noodles are the egg noodle kind. Nothing good or bad stands out, so that means they are decent. - I personally like to add a bit of hot oil and white pepper to any of their Hong Kong style noodle soups. When these two combine with the hot temperature of the soup, it brings a heart warning type of feeling to my stomach which I enjoy very much Chinese broccoli with oyster sauce: - very generous portion. Had to take home the leftovers - not much to say about the taste. It's just steamed with no seasoning, which is the way it's supposed to be cooked. Other notes: - if you want the soy chicken noodle soup, you need to come earlier in the day. They are usually out of soy chicken after 6pm. Service: - it depends who your server is. I usually come after 6pm on the weekday so they usually aren't that busy. Our server is friendly and attentive. Atmosphere: - it's fine for what it is. Don't expect much. They have these vibrant blue tables, wooden floor, wooden chairs, and a golden brown color wall. Most of the dining tables and chairs are centered toward the center of the restaurant. They have a separate Chinese menu hanging on the wall if you can read it. Taste of Hong Kong is overall pretty mediocre. They don't excel at anything, nor are they terrible. Despite being hit or miss, I'll be returning for many more meals because you can't get this style of Vietnamese/Cantonese cuisine in the local area unless you drive out to Falls church or to Maryland."

"Spicy tofu was great crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. Seasoning on tofu had a kick to it. Fried rice was nice and Pan fried noodles was soupy. Was expecting dry version. It was decent. Tsing Tao was refreshing and smooth."

"As far as the food is concerned, this place definitely deserves more than 3 stars. Dishes are authentic and tasty. Overall quality is well above average among Cantonese restaurants in the DC area. Regarding the service, that's a taste of Hong Kong as well, and I have to say that the staff had been far friendlier than I expected."
