Giant Food

"Honestly every time I come here I have an issue. I've only come here four times and each time it's been the worst experience I've ever had at any giant. I love going to Giant in other areas. The one in Rockville is nice. The one in Silver Spring is great. I live in Bethesda but I always have to drive elsewhere to go to a giant. Today really irritated me. I told the employee making the fruit that I was allergic to kiwis and blueberries. Her reply was to take them off. I told her I could not just take them off because I would have an allergic reaction and then it would be a problem. Said that this was not her problem and then I could just take it off because she's not making any more fruit. This African girl that works in produce refused to make me a fruit bowl even after her manager told her to make me a fruitful with out the fruit that I was allergic to. Management thought it was a reasonable request and I've never had a problem at any other giant getting reasonable requests such as allergens not in my food. I'm disgusted thoroughly. Disgusted with this giant and is not everybody else's fault. It's her fault. I had three people explained to her why you cannot leave allergens touching things that I'm not allergic to and that it could cause anaphylaxic attack but she didn't care so I left. Every time I ask somebody to do something considered extra for me I always tip so I'm very annoyed. I'm not going to have fruit this week or maybe I'll just have to go to Harris teeter and get it."

"This is a pretty good Giant compared to other Giants in Northern VA. They have a greater number of items and a pretty good selection. Their pharmacy is very quick and efficient. It’s always sad to see their pharmacy is understaffed and the pharmacist is running around all day long."

"Worst manager ever! I just came for these diapers for a friend who lives near by. The first box that I grabbed was damaged by the manufacturer, so the cashier suggested I pay, then get another since there was a line behind me. Seemed reasonable, so I did. The only other identical box had 6 less diapers! I asked manager what to do. They rang up as the same price, too. I found it very unprofessional that he kept speaking some Asian language with another associate even they both spoke English fluently! I’m trilingual, and I would never do that! It’s RUDE! His only solution was to choose a box and walked away after several conversations in both languages clearly to their amusement in their language at my humiliation and desperation. I paid for 58 diapers, yet left with 52 diapers. This doesn’t seem right."
