Giant Food

"The cashier is terrible. When I was puzzled by a mechanical problem at the self-checkout, a male staff member of South American descent responded by yelling at me from behind, acting as if it was our fault.　There was no apology for the mechanical trouble. On top of that, when the cashier finished, he bumped into me and took my basket.　No apology whatsoever for bumping into him.　He pretended nothing was wrong and had a conversation with another staff member.　I have used this supermarket many times and the other staff were very nice. Only this guy is the worst."

"I live in Amsterdam and shop regularly at the Albert Heijn grocery store near my house... Although the prices are somewhat higher than the other grocery stores, it is convenient, and perhaps I'm lazy? What's the connection to your Giant? Well, both stores are owned by A-Hold corporation, based in the Netherlands. As a customer at Giant, you should ask yourself why a tiny country like Holland can provide groceries at Albert Heijn supermarkets for far, far less money than your Giant? I'm a regular visitor to the Bethesda area and can't figure out why your prices are so obscenely higher than the already over-priced Albert Heijn in the Netherlands? Further, I've always found your store ridiculously under-staffed and rather dirty. In short, my personal opinion is that this just another example of GREEDFLATION. I honestly don't understand how the upper management at Giant can sleep at night. Time will prove, as will your dividend payments to shareholders, just like in Holland, that record profits are the answer. And with a basic necessity like food... Frankly, I find it sickening. I'm glad I don't live here and feel sorry for all of your victims... I mean customers. Or do you call them suckers?"

"I love the Giant on Arlington Road. The store is clean and the food is fresh. Ms. Mary is an excellent manager and example of first rate customer service. Her employees are extra helpful balancing my cart load on my slow days. That makes it a great environment for seniors like me and others who shop during the day or off-hours. I highly recommend "my Giant" to others!"

"I only get 40 minutes for lunch and I've being trying to save money by using Giant's deli section but I can't shop here anymore. 10 minutes of my lunch is spent waiting at the hotcase while making eye contact with the employees as they do their best to ignore me and attempt to catch up on work. Understaffed and it shows."
