Winchester Medical Center

"Gave 1 star because zero isn’t an option. Thoroughly disgusted with this facility. The staff were all rude, with the exception of the man that shows you how to get to the part of the medical center you are going to (I think they call them “patient ambassadors” - that person was nice). Had an MRI done here, provided copies of all prior reports and images - physically handed them to the tech - but radiologist wrote “no prior exams for comparison” in his report; he completely ignored all of the prior exams I provided for comparison. The lady at the main front desk was less than polite, and the people in the imaging department were downright rude, first when I went for the exam and then again when I subsequently attempted to get copies of the images (which I still haven’t obtained because they make this exceedingly difficult). If you have to get an MRI, and have ANY other options for places to get it, pick one of the other options - this place just sucks."

"I had the most wonderful experience I've ever had a hospital! From the moment I walked into the ER, my stay in the observation department, all the testing and imaging depts, until I walked out was wonderful. Every single person I encountered was so kind and caring! I could not of asked for better care!"

"Nice people but in over 10 years I've never stayed at the ER for less than 6 hours. That must be their rule. Anyone going to the ER stays 6 hours. No reason for it!"

"Dr. Makari is an excellent doctor. I had my 1st surgery (gallbladder)and went to his office Aug. 8th. (bldg #2 purple lot suite 310.) for the initial consultation. The staff there were wonderful. Very nice & professional. Dr. Makari explained everything to me and answered all of mine & my husbands questions. 3 weeks later I had my surgery at Winchester Medical Center (green lot South tower 1840 Amherst st). The process was easy. They checked me in, took me to my room where I met nurses (Bonnie & Jennifer) my anesthesiologist (Dr. Andrea Styron) and saw Dr. Makari. All were very nice, wonderful, polite & professional. They explained everything, answered my questions and took me in for surgery. My husband got a few calls from them all stating how I was doing etc and what was going on. How impressive! Afterwards, recovery was fine and I was told about my aftercare & was sent home same day. I was so impressed by what a wonderful experience I had. Thank you!"

"Take food!! The medical staff are great and cleaning staff, doctors and most all but the newer system they have in place for providing meals has a lot to be desired. 3 out of 4 days I didn’t get meals as should have. It was issues from late deliver, didn’t know you were here, another for some reason you were dropped from our system to lastly the order person to place the order didn’t get it/place and 2 phone calls from nurses even up to over an hour later they still were not answering the phone so yeah no food go me. So I am not saying the food isn’t as good as it was but the old system was better compared to the results that was received!!"
