"Service was amazing, servers were very genuine and a very peaceful atmosphere. The food wasn’t how I expected it to be presented and wasn’t very good to me either. Pictures is the blackened Louisiana matrimony!"

"I had the avocado toast for breakfast and it was basic in taste. Needed seasoning (at least salt). The presentation was very pretty though. I added smoked salmon to it and it was tasteless. I've never purchased or ordered smoked salmon before that didn't taste like anything so that was weird. The bacon was cooked super crispy which some people like, but it's not my favorite (I didn't feel like reordering it so I didn't say anything to the server). The service was great. They automatically add 20% gratuity but the server underlined it in the bill so it didn't feel sneaky. When we got to-go boxes, the server offered to-go coffee as well which is always a nice touch in service. The chairs were very noisy and echoed in the hallway-like setup so that was not pleasant to hear first thing in the morning. (They should add those felt stickers to the bottom.) The lighting was also fluorescent which is my least favorite. Nice linen napkins but they were overly starched and stiff. I liked the tableware - classy style gold accents - but it's like they were trying to be fancy when they're not. Overall, I would go again, but probably order something else."

"I've brunched at Portum several times over the years. It's gotten much better with age. The waitstaff treats everyone like a VIP. The coffee is truly divine. The buffet always has lots of bacon. Sometimes there's fish, collards, fried chicken and all kinds of other hearty deliciousness. Sometimes the meat portions are too big. It would be nice to have them cut in smaller pieces so. The pancakes, french toast and waffles have a great texture and taste. I don't eat eggs but my omelet eating friends have been very happy with their meals. There's always fresh fruit and plenty of healthy options if you want to balance out the damage you'll do to your resolve to eat better. I'm usually too stuffed to enjoy dessert but I'll sample if they have tarts or other bite sized items. Parking is free and plentiful. Tip is included in the price but sometimes we leave a little extra because the service is so good. I usually make brunch reservations right after they open so I can leave before it gets crowded. The only problem is that I'm usually leaving when the band starts."

"The young man who was the host was very professional and simply awesome! The crab cake was excellent. The greens were great, but, were spicy to the taste; such information should be disclosed in the menu description. NOTE: 20% Gratuity was added to the bill for a party of TWO people."

"From the Moment you walk in, you are greeted with big smiles. It was our first time and had friends from out of town. We were greeted by Maritza, who took our drink order and explained the buffet to us. The buffet was beautifully set up and looked very inviting. We started with the omelettes that were made to order, and made our way to the hot items. We finished our meal off with the fresh fruit and delicious pastries. The Director, Jeff, checked on us several times and even cleared any plates he saw in front of us. It was a great experience and although we live over an hour away, we will definitely be coming back!!"
