Ford's Fish Shack Ashburn

"Went and had a bunch of apps for dinner - this is a heavy app review - wish I could rate it at 4.5 but google does not let me. Had the following: > Angry mussels - 5 out of 5 they are the best! Good size, well cooked, super tasty broth the chorizo rocks - whole family loves them and you have to fight for a piece of the bread. > Calamari - 4.8 out of 5 - see picture it flew off plate so fast had a hard time getting a picture. Very tasty will get again - if any critique it would be some spice in the peppers. > Main Chips - 4.0 out of 5 - tasty, fun, and flavorful but not as good squid or mussels > Fords famous corn muffins with maple butter 5 out of 5, excellent and butter was excellent > Devillish good eggs - 1 out of 5 ( the pecan and bacon were spot on - great, added a nice sweet note ) but at least for me and the 3 others we were out with thought the eggs were too over the top ( way too many spices, zoom in and see all the green flecks, and the egg was sweetened as well, could not even taste the egg) > Minor other critique is that I ordered a Guinness draft ( maybe the nitrogen tap was not working, but it was kinda flat and served in a pint glass not a proper Guinness pint Glass. ) > finished with blueberry pie cobbler, white chocolate bread pudding 5 out of 5 both were great. Don’t get me wrong here - I love Fords fish shack!! I’ve been there a dozen times and plan to go back at least a dozen more. Overall Great atmosphere, Great service and Great food."

"Phenomenal! The ultimate seafood experience, which goes a long way being from New England. My first time trying a fried lobster tail, and it exceeded my expectations. All the food was lightly fried, seasoned and fresh. Highly recommended!"

"If you’re looking for a seafood place, this it! Fords has been one of our “go to” seafood restaurant for over 10 years. I wasn’t able to get food photos this time, but got photos of the seating & outside area. Their Fish & Chips are the best! Fords is hands down the greatest of all the places I’ve been to for Fish & Chips. They are tender and fried to perfection. I take a bite and say “oh my gosh, delicious.” Almost like a melt in your mouth euphoria. We love their cornbread little muffins, they come with a whipped butter and together they are perfect to have prior to the entree arriving. My mother-in-law loves, loves, loves their Mussels (and the fried oyster/shrimp basket). My father in-law loves the Calamari (and the Salmon dish). They drive up from Stafford, VA specifically to order these dishes. Request to Fords, please try to perfect the green beans that come with the Salmon dish, the green beans “were edible”, but could have been cooked a little longer. I’ve tried the New England Cod only at the South Riding location (which is now closed until they reopen at a new location), the Cod is fabulous, but struggle with their green beans, they are typically undercooked with this dish. We ordered the Rocket Shrimp which was good and the green beans were cooked well with this dish. Overall, 100% love this place. Thanks to Fords and look forward to their Chantilly location opening up in 2024!"

"I've been here around 7 times and always have a different experience. Today I went in the door around 3min until 11am and was told to wait ✋️ we're not open yet. So i had to wait 3 min outside... This was very off putting, no hospitality. No love. I couldn't even wait inside and the doors were open. The host was literally just standing there. I waited my 3min and then went back inside. Food was good and the waitress was very nice. It seemed that the host today was a little grumpy but I understand we all have our off days.... it's Monday after all."
