"My adventure started with Mercedes traction control light "on". Mercedes told me they would have to change all four wheel speed sensors ($2700.00). Oh, HECK no. I researched scanners on line and purchased a Youcanic. I have five cars throwing codes so I was anxious to use the scanner. Out of the box, you can tell the scanner is well made and durable. I like the size. The Mercedes: Used live data, went for a drive a saw that the right front speed sensor was at 9ohms. Reaming sensor 2.4 ohms, Saved $2,250.00. Next: Mazda 3 with an airbag light.Turned on the live data, drove around saw the steering wheel clock spring ohms were bouncing all over the place. $42.00 to fix. Next: 2000 Excursion. Also an airbag light & ABS light. Scanned it, this vehicle also had a right front speed sensor bad $12. Clicked live data, all airbags were at 2.5 ohms. While driving I saw a small momentary 2 ohm flutter in the clock spring ohms. I stopped in a parking lot, rotated the steering wheel until the clock spring ohms hit 2.5. Shut the truck off, started it back up and the airbag light was gone. Clock spring $52.00. Next: it was very cold cold out. The 1-1/2 ton GMC diesel truck wouldn't start. It was throwing 5 codes. pointing to: low pressure in the high pressure fuel rail, low fuel pressure, low tank vacuum and low generator output. I kept searching. It couldn't be lack of fuel, because my gage read 1/4 tank. Went back to live data and noticed the fuel tank pickup was reading .60 (half gallon) Geess!. Put 10 gallons in the tank, primed the filter and wham, it fired right up. All five codes vanished. I guess my gage is not reading correctly. I'm now working on a Nissan Murano Cross Cabriolet air bag code, drivers side air bag. Clock spring checked good. Nissan computer will not let me see the ohms for each air bag, so I took the door apart and manually the checked the Ohms of the airbag. It was 2.4-2.5 ohms, so the bag is good. I'll have to do additional searching. I like the scanner a lot. Once you understand the avenues of the menus, voltages and ohms, it becomes much easier. The menus are easy to use and make sense how they are laid out. I really like how you can select only the "live data" you want to see. In some instances, if the live date is not with in spec, it will turn the font orange. I always look for that first. Somethings I might change: The battery seems to die fairly quickly, it's good for about 2-3 hours. I never used automotive scanners before so I'm not sure if the battery usage is normal. There is a battery saving mode which I recently discovered and turned on, but haven't used yet. I would also like to see more live data on one page. Although, if they changed that, they might hear complaints that the type is too small. Out of the 5 cars I connected the scanner to, the scanner was only able to pickup 2 of 5 VIN numbers. Once I put in the VIN's manually, it recognized them. I also find myself having to tap the "Back" arrow button more than once in order for it to go back a screen. Not sure if it's me or the touch screen. Listen for the confirmation click/tone, it helps. I did notice that amount of data you can see varies between vehicles. The 2000 excursion had pages and pages of live data. I could change things such as spark timing and fuel delivery. On the 2012 Nissan I had much less data I could see or change. I talked to Nissan and they said they restrict other scanners on purpose. Nissan also told me that there will be a good number of codes that I will not be able to clear on any scanner except a dealers scanner. Keep that in mind. Side note: When I receive the scanner, the button on the scope would not stay in the unit. I contacted Youcanic and a new scope arrive within days. Great customer service. Youcanic has a great scanner but, like any tool it takes a little time to learn how to use. Youcanic has already saved me well over $4k, Im confident it will save more. "I’m completely a novice but wanted to see if I could avoid a $200 diagnostic fee from the dealership. Mine is a relatively new car and the airbag fault was continuously showing up on my dashboard. These guys spent a good bit of time working with me to resolve the problem and we eventually narrowed it down to the passenger seat. They recommended that I check the connections underneath the seat to see if anywhere was loose. I actually found contact that was hanging down.
