"5* all round- thank you all! The girls are soo lovely & have given our little doggie the most beautiful groom just in time for Christmas. I would absolutely recommend to all :-)"
"I’ve tried a few groomers and they’re by far the best in the area. They’ve done a great groom every time I’ve gone. Really professional, helpful and attentive."
"Dreadful place, our dog went in for a with a beautiful full curly coat of hair that just needed a wash, groom and trim in certain areas and came out practically bald!! Why would you shave a dog without owners permission and in winter!!!!! They had all details of what we wanted on their system and couldn't be bothered to call us to ask. I wouldn't give a single star, but unfortunately I have to, never going back."
"Brought my puppy in earlier, just to shop, and an overzealous employee immediately swooped over to her and picked her up without asking me which is really rude. So I’m standing there holding one end of the lead while looking at my puppy wriggling madly in a complete stranger’s arms. My puppy can be very boisterous and overexcited with strangers which I’m working on in training and behaviour like this from people undermines the progress we make. I’d expect anyone who works with dogs to understand that cuteness isn’t a free pass for bad boundaries. As the owner, I have has to deal with the training consequences of my puppy getting rewarded with attention when they’re jumping around losing their little mind because someone is squealing at them and greeting them like a long lost child. Employee gets several minutes of puppy love — I deal with the fallout with any visitor or passerby. Also a puppy is a puppy until they’re a a much taller, heavier dog. Even if you disregard the above: CHILDREN often ask me if they can pet her. Why is a grown woman picking her up like she’s a toy? Entitlement is the answer. This woman then gave her treats without asking me, when my puppy has certain food intolerances and can get a sick stomach for a week if she eats the wrong ingredient. Luckily she didn’t eat the offering because she was so overstimulated, but this is another clear example of self serving behaviour on the employee’s part. The woman suggested that she put my puppy into the grooming area while I shop. She barely waited for an answer from me. I was feeling very overwhelmed and uncomfortable with the overfamiliarity of her acting like she knew what was okay for my dog and as I weighed it up, she was carrying my puppy away and placing her over a baby gate into a room HEAVING with dogs of all sizes. I only saw a couple through the glass which was why I considered it (I never gave a definitive YES) but it turns out there were 10-15 in a small area of differing heights and weights. As I strained to see what was happening, the groomers were smirking judgementally at me as if I was being overprotective when I was reading my puppy’s body language. When I saw my puppy was frozen, surrounded by a curious but persistent pack of adult dogs, I immediately told the woman to take her out. I was passive aggressively chastised for this: ‘but she’s so confident!’. I said this is all too overstimulating and said I was leaving. I calmly left the shop and she stood in silence without a word of apology. If you enjoy boundaryless individuals putting their love of cuteness over what is actually best for a dog, go to this shop/salon. And bare minimum tip for employees: ask the owner before scooping up someone else’s pet."
"I can't thank the team at Bishops Bark enough. My 2yo collie x poodle doesn't love the groomers and has had some pretty bad experiences in the past. At Bishops Bark they did everything we could ever ask to make his time enjoyable. Treats and hugs from the minute he walked in. The trim was perfect, the team listened to everything we asked, and he left looking a million dollars. Cheers again to the team."
