"My cat has always been a very healthy cat. I book him in for a full check-up every few months. Nearing the time of his neutering, prior to the neutering, he had a little blood in his urine. We asked the doctor many times if he could still be neutered in this condition. My cat's neutering doctor swore to us that there was no problem at all. And so it was that three days after last night's neutering, my cat passed away in his sleep. My family and I didn't even get a word of apology from the doctor who neutered him!!! Rather, someone else said it for him. Since all the tests were done and we were told afterwards that maybe there was something wrong with his blood in his urine and that he was not to be neutered. Then why tell us at the time that this was a normal condition and was perfectly fine to do? Such self-contradiction. It really made us very disappointed and upset. There was no compensation and no personal apology. I couldn't even get a REFER for the autopsy that needed to be done on him. We are left to go on earth with questions and pain to remember our cat. This is really a very irresponsible and conceited thing to do that led to my cat's death. I already feel extremely disillusioned with the medical system for my pets. People don't have human rights we can protest, cats don't have cat rights I don't even have a place to complain."
"Jeremy Carr is an excellent and compassionate vet. I took my elderly (16 years) cat to Medivet Hendon and she was treated primarily by Jeremy. He was exceptionally kind and empathetic. Jeremy has the very important ability to describe my cat’s condition, tests and diagnosis very clearly. He knew I was extremely anxious and did his best to get the biopsy test results back quickly. Nothing was too much trouble. Sadly, she was diagnosed with stomach cancer and I had to let her go as it was in her best interest. Jeremy has all the qualities anyone could ever want in a vet. I did not want to put my beloved cat through anymore at her age. He changed his schedule so he could be with me as I held her in my arms as she was put to sleep. I instinctively trusted Jeremy straighten away and was absolutely correct in my faith in him."
"We attended Medivet Hendon for an emergency appointment in the late evening, and the whole team were amazing. The vet was friendly and reassuring, but actually explained the whole thing really thoroughly so we knew what was going on and could make informed choices. The rest of the team were also lovely and supportive so, even though it's never fun to need an emergency vet, they made the whole experience much less stressful."
"After a small scratch that our pet had over a row that became visible a few hours later and late in the evening, we decided to take her to the 24 hr clinic to be on the safe side. Very grateful with the lady who helped us over the phone (apologies I forgot your name!) and Nina the vet, who examined our baby, reassured us on her health and prescribed the necessary antibiotics. Everything was efficient, friendly and without any doubt would recommend them. In our case it was the emergency service, but no doubt the regular services is extraordinary as well. Thank you so much for your kindness and professionalism!"
"!! Wrong contact number !!! Lungworms test failure !!! heart arrest during CT-scanning!! My dog admitted to Medivet veterinary practice- Hendon brunch in January the 18th 2022 due to respiratory distressed. The practice advised us that different types of laboratory tests including imaging (X-rays and CT-scan) need to be done to reach the diagnosis. She was not in good situation as practice did not reach definitive diagnosis in proper time manner and it is strongly believed that her welfare was affected dramatically. She went through a CT-scan and unfortunately during the CT-scan passed away. The practice informed me that She had heart arrest during CT-scanning. The practice wanted to send Her body for cremation and I did not give consent for cremation as I believe it is very unfair on her to be cremated without getting a definitive diagnosis. Therefore, we requested to send the body for post mortem. Post mortem result illustrated that Her death was lung worm infestation. She died when simply could simply avoided three times but now she’s died she’s gone, We have spoken to a few other practice vets and they strongly believe that if the standard of care was done, her death could have been avoided. Reasons of her death 1- poor communication : they had a wrong phone number since beginning and Now the response that we received , “it’s was human error “ The practice failed to provide us with the worm pill she had to take every month. They wrote the wrong phone number down and even tho we went to them twice since we had her and they even didn’t check her medical history to provide us or tell us that she had a missing pills. Her previous owner has told us to keep an eye on the text messages as they text you when the pill is due to be administrated to her. We contacted the clinic and they said it was not their responsibility. They even didn’t even email us the reminder. 2- lungworm test failure : the response we received” we did carry out an in house blood test to check for lungworm. Although this test can prove very useful, it is not 100% effective at detecting lungworm and therefore showed as negative, but this can happen as the test is very sensitive and only detects specific strains of lungworm.”!!!!!! Negative!! She died from lungworms in that stage how could be 3- during the CT-scan passed away!!!: I spoke with many doctors and vet every one says that the X-ray clearly shows that her lung being extremely compromised and her heart is larger than normal and that should have been clear enough for the vet or surgeon to know not to inject her with antistatic as her lungs were not able to provide enough oxygen for her heart to function. That would have been as I quote “the standard procedure” to start the diagnoses. We came to the clinic twice and nobody mentioned to us that we were contacted but her pills were not collected and even the last time she was there I asked the vet to give us any pills she might have missed but they even didn’t check her medical history We do not deny the part we took in her death but it could easily been avoided by you three times I hope never happens to any family My baby has missed two of her milprazon pills due to the wrong phone number being kept on your system. When we changed the owner detail, there were no checks to see if the clinic holds the right contact details of their client. The email address was right but still failed to communicate with us after two unsuccessful attempts by phone number. Nowadays wherever you register, they ask for your email and phone number confirmation to make sure they hold the right information the step should be taken to avoid this to happen to any other pets and family The clinic should have a better way of communicating with their clients and not just rely on automated text messages as many places have text and email reminders for their clients. The seriousness of the lungworm should be considered in all clinics as we believe Many new owners like us do not know about this lungworms disease and the seriousness of the disease."
