Physicians for Women - Melius, Schurr & Cardwell

"10/10 would recommend physicians for women. I have worked with both the OBs and the midwives and have had only positive experiences. The OBs are very informative and attentive. I always leave having all of my questions answered and feeling good about my visit which I have rarely experienced elsewhere. I have used them for primary care and pregnancy. Dr. Melius is very friendly, funny, and easy to connect with. Dr. Schurr and Dr. Neumann really listen and are easy to talk to to discuss concerns. Dr. Piquette helped me navigate my journey trying to conceive. She talked me through all of my options and let me take the lead in my care amd supported each decision I made. Dr. Walker is so nice and very sweet. She was on top of things when I experienced gestational hypertension and needed to go to the hospital for induction at 38.5 weeks and I am very happy with the outcome of her delivering my baby. All of the OBs are great! After seeing them so often during prenatal and postpartum care, they feel like good friends! I have worked with Christine and Emily for lactation consults. Each time I felt heard and understood and they made me feel worlds better about issues and concerns I was having, helped me fix it, and I left feeling more confident in my ability to feed my baby. They even helped me feel less stressed about my postpartum anxiety without making me feel judged. I haven't used the midwives for primary care or pregnancy but I have no doubt that would be wonderful in those areas, too! The nurses are all lovely and friendly. They get back to me with answers to my questions via phone or my chart same day. The front desk staff are always very friendly and prompt with scheduling and returning calls if I have to leave a message. Pregnant or not, this is the place to go for women's health care!!!"

"Just had my annual check up with Alaine and she was very thorough and helped alleviate my fears/ tell me what to look for when it comes to some hereditary diseases in my family. I appreciated her friendly demeanor and walking me through what she was doing. I feel seen here and that’s important as a patient. :)"

"Had to finally find a new practice because of my poor experiences here. I will say that the actual providers have been great. I was seeing Angie and Dr. Schurr. The front desk staff and/or nursing staff does not care about calling patients back. I have had this happen on 7 occasions in the last 3 years. Absolutely horrible and frustrating customer service. I already have an apt secured at a new clinic and am still waiting on Physicians for Women to call me back."

"The Madison Midwives went above and beyond to make me feel heard, supported, and to address my concerns. I was lucky enough to have the birthing experience that I hoped and planned for, in large part due to my midwife, Christine, and the awesome staff at Meriter. My personal preference was to have a water birth without pain intervention, but I talked through a number of scenarios with the midwives, and they are supportive of all birthing plans. I am happy with my OB, but I'm very glad I made the decision to make the switch and have a more person-centered labor. Such an empowering experience."

"I had the best experience and care with the midwives. I decided to have most of my appointments with Christine to establish a strong relationship with one midwife. Christine was thoughtful and thorough with her decisions and created my care plan specific to my needs. With this being my first child, I was anxious about labor and delivery because of the vulnerable state I would be in, but Christine made it as comfortable as possible. Her experience is shown through how she flawlessly managed my complications. If I have another child, I would want Christine to be on my care team. My expectations were exceeded in all aspects and would recommend the midwives to anyone who wants the best prenatal, intrapartum, and postpartum care."
