"I was impressed with my experience with UMC GI and Surgical. It was like night and day compared to the healthcare in New Mexico where I had to wait months for appointments and tests to be done. It took less than 3 months to have all that I needed done to confirm I had cirrhosis of the liver. I was diagnosed in April of 2022 and wasn't able to see a GI doctor until November 2022. Then I did see a GI doctor I and expected some answers and only walked out of his appointment with a scheduled colonoscopy at the end of April 2023. Was able to get my primary care doctor to refer me to a GI doctor at UMC in Lubbock, TX. Was able to get an appointment in early April of 2023. Went away from that office visit after 16 tubes of blood to be sent out for testing and appointments for a colonoscopy/endos-copy, CT scan of abdomen, and a barium swallow test. All to be done in a two day period on May 22-23, 2023. Now a follow up office visit on June 8, 2023. I was impressed with the detailed presentation of each test. Far better care than New Mexico. Thank you UMC for the best care I have ever had in my life."

Every major thing in my life has been handled in their facilities in one way or another, and this procedure was relatively painless, and efficient. The staff, including the doctor, did all they could to calm my nerves and I will forever be grateful for it."
