Great Expressions Dental Centers - Red Bud

"Are you thinking about making an appointment at the Red Bud location? DON´T EVEN DARE! On Jan 19th, I went to my first and last appt with them. They told me that my insurance did not cover the services I needed, so I believed them and had to pay $750 for cleaning. Once in the room, the hygienist greeted me with yawns, and during the procedure, she was sleepy and watching a show on the monitor of the dental unit. Although the dentist told me they would use anesthesia, the procedure was very painful. As I had my doubts, in the end, I requested a copy of X-rays, 3D images, and diagnostics. They gave me a copy of the treatment plan and told me that was my diagnosis. Wait, what?? Those are 2 different things. After calling them several times, they sent me just the X-rays, but after 18 days they still owe me the 3D images and the diagnostic. A few days ago, I received an EOB from my insurance stating that my responsibility is just $50. Why the hell don't you check the coverages first? Why do you make patients have to shell out their money? Do your work! I am still waiting for reimbursement, 3D images, and diagnostics. When are you planning to send it to me? THIS IS NOT A RECOMMENDED PLACE."

"I was charged for a picture X-ray that they require, but doesn’t show roots or through the teeth while their actual X-ray machine was down and they didn’t do a cleaning. They poked the gums for gingivitis and told me to come back for a Special Cleaning. (Note I got a serious infection in my jaw within the week) That took my annual visit and then got pricing for services that I verified w my insurance, this office charges DOUBLE! It has been months and I still haven’t gotten receipts for services done/not done and charged for to deal with my insurance company! Do Not go here!!"

"I had a crown fall off yesterday and they were so amazing to get me in today. The crown was old so they had to do some tissue removal to get ready for a new crown.....they still fit in tome to do that TODAY. I was really impressed with that as i was woth how the doctor kept checking in with me about my comfort level and if i need a brak. Everyone was so caring and professional. Everything was explained in detail at each step.i would highly recommend Great Expressions in Roun Rock."

"This place is all about charging your insurance company and not about their patients. My husband and I made appointments to go here. They cancelled my husband’s appointment a week before mine because they said he never confirmed the appointment. I ended up going to the appointment and they asked me to pay before my service, I ve never experienced that before but went ahead and paid and asked why am I paying. I was a new patient and had my X-rays sent to them from my previous dentist office beforehand. They said that there’s an X-ray that they need that they require from all new patients. I thought that was strange because with my dental insurance I usually never have to pay. I had sent them my X-rays and panoramic X-rays ahead of time so I was surprised they needed additional ones. They said I needed the intraoral X-rays. I reached out to my previous dentist while I was there and they said that they don’t do the intraoral X-ray because most insurance companies won’t cover both the panoramic and the intraoral X-ray. So billing this additional X-ray was new for me. Then once it was time for me to meet the dentist , the dentist asked for my name which felt impersonal and asked it again from her assistant. Then after I briefly met with the dentist I asked the assistant would the cleaning be next and she said that they don’t do cleaning for their patients visits and I would have to make a special appointment for that. I have NEVER gone to a dentist before where they don’t do a cleaning. So, the visit was all X-rays and seeing how much they could charge my insurance company. The only person between the front desk to the dentist that was actually helpful and made it a good experience was Ashli she was awesome!"
