Designed by Peters, Strange and Bradshaw Architects and constructed by C.S. Lambie and company in 1932, the auditorium has been a center for cultural productions for decades.

In 1988, The Dora Roberts Foundation financed a complete remodeling of the building, adding air conditioning for the comfort of patrons. In 2016, the auditorium underwent another renovation, modernizing its lighting and sound systems and making it ADA accessible to the public.
