"Stayed here on a cross country move, mainly based on the great reviews and the history. Caught it right after Christmas and it was still decorated. Everyone was so kind and even got us changed into a new room when we had issues with the plumbing in ours. I had chosen this hotel for the night to celebrate my husband’s birthday and had also picked out a place out in town, which ended up being closed. We ate at the restaurant in the hotel and really enjoyed our dinner and drinks and the staff was all very sweet. We plan to make repeat trips back here!"

"Absolutely amazing, it's like walking into the roaring twenties. This hotel is beautifully restored. Every corner and detail from the outside patio and pool area ti the restaurant is simply awesome. It is truly a rare gem in Big Spring. The bed was so comfortable and the room was spacious with the surprise kitchenette."

"Honestly, I didn't get the opportunity to stay here, but on my road trip from El Paso to Dallas we had stopped to sleep in the car, on our mad dash trip to DFW. I showed up looking like a bum, sweatshirt, red eyes and hair a mess, (30 minutes of sleep after 23 hours of being awake and 8 of those driving), for me to ask the receptionist at the desk to be able to use the restroom. She was sweet, no judgemental and didn't say no. The location is strange getting to the hotel, but from the history it was a center of the town, and it's absolutely beautiful inside. Decorated for Christmas, warm and inviting, smelled clean and yet a hint of Christmas. Bathrooms were lovely, and I was able to go about my business and leave- but I left with the deep impression that this hotel cared, and I would absolutely love to be able to come back as a guest with my husband for a Texas getaway. Thank you, staff at Hotel Settles, for not judging this book by it's overtired and frumpy cover. Elegant hotel worth the time to visit."

"Absolutely loved my stay! The room was the cleanest I ever saw. The bed was so comfortable! The staff and reception were extremely helpful and friendly: shout-out to Melissa and Marcus! The breakfast was delicious too. It is an amazing historic landmark hotel in Texas which everybody must visit. Perfect wedding destination too. I will definitely stay again! Thank you!!!"

"It was a last minute decision to spend the night here. We came out from Dallas to help move our daughter and her little family in to their new home in Big Spring. It was our last night here, and neither one of us had to work Monday because of Labor Day. We decided to spend one more night and check it out. Half luxury hotel, half museum, it feels like a living time capsule with its 1930s furnishings and art deco fixtures. The walls are decorated with photographs of the period and letters from past guests of the hotel with the hotel letterhead announcing their stay and other ephemera of the hotels earlier years. My husband enjoyed our one night very much. The rooms have been remodeled but in keeping with its styling of the 1930s. Everything is top notch, from the gorgeous beds, (real beds, no fake glued-to-the-wall headboards here) to the desk, to the building plats turned artwork, everything feels luxury. The service was excellent. We felt like the guests we were. The breakfast we ate in the restaurant downstairs was perfect. We had the cheese omelette and coffee. We liked it so much we will be back again."
