While BJJ was always my first love, I've found that thai boxing is also a lot of fun because of their enthusiasm. Because of the skills I've gained, I am confident and my partner is comfortable with me working late by myself or going out with my friends. He jokingly calls me his "body guard" because I have a higher level of situational awareness. "The Hosford jiu-jitsu academy is absolutely top notch. The instructors have a lifetime of learning and knowledge and are excellent teachers. The culture they have created is very positive and conducive to learning. This is not a "gym bro" school or somewhere where you worry about getting hurt from aggro meat heads. I started my bjj journey at 46 years old with them, and still train regularly with them now over 4 years later. Training bjj will greatly improve your life, in many ways beyond the obvious, and there's no better place in East TN to train than at this school."
