Gatehouse Theatre
● Open“Great shows on here. It has a disabled entrance which is good for wheel chairs and prams and a second entrance which is steps. Only annoying thing is when waiting for the show the toilets are quite difficult to get to as everyone is forming a que next to them. Seen a few shows here. The pantos are always great. No car park but lots nearby and not far to walk to. I suggest Riverside by primark is the easiest as others have time restrictions on. The drinks here were cheap and we bought a flashy light thing for the children. Staff seemed friendly and great atmosphere. One thing I will say is the front few rows it is hard to see much on stage unless your tall. They did offer booster seats for 50p for kids. Seats are that comfortable but it's not for long.”

-
Stafford Festival Shakespeare
● OpenNewport Road, Stafford ST16 1DJ, United Kingdom“Definitely well worth visiting if Shakespeare is your thing - bear in mind that the performance is in traditional language, so can be hard to follow if you aren't familiar with it. The performance itself was excellent, a great cast and very well performed. My only issue was that the location of the support pillars for the roof of the seating stand weren't clear on the seating plan, and I had one right in front of me which spoilt the view somewhat. The seat do get a bit hard so definitely take a cushion with you, and it does get chilly when the sun goes down.”

Emmi-Lou Dance Academy
● OpenOutclough Road, Brindley Ford, Stoke-on-trent ST8 7QD, United Kingdom“ELDA is an incredible dance school which caters for every dancer. Whether dancing is your hobby or you wish to pursue it as a career, this is the right place to get started. In my 19 years at the dance school I have had the opportunity to take both bbodance and IDTA examinations and perform in outstanding shows. I have also seen many students go on to work as both performers and dance teachers. The commitment from the teachers at ELDA is second to none and I couldn't recommend anywhere better!”

Vue Cinema Newcastle-Under-Lyme
● Closed“Friendly staff at the main checkouts were super helpful despite us being behind schedule. They helped us pick out some great seats and got us quickly sorted with coffee and requisite popcorn. The screen was no4 and not one of the primary screens yet still a good size with outstanding sound and visual quality. The reclining electric leather seats made the drive really comfortable and relaxing. Vue are one of the few major companies that will still show niche movies on a regular basis that would generally not appear at the manor multiplexes. Support this relatively rare and disappearing gem. It is head and shoulders above the local competition in every way!”
-
Lyceum Theatre
● Closed“Lovely historic theatre. Ornate Edwardian interior, it’s relatively small which I think is a good thing as back row seats still get you a good view of the stage. Parking can be tricky as it’s limited nearby, so if travelling by car allow plenty of time and have a plan B or C for where to park!”
-

Hotel Rudyard
● OpenLake Road, Rudyard, Leek ST13 8RN, United Kingdom“Lovely hotel right next to rudyard Lake. Cracking Sunday lunch with a good selection of meat and veg and a very friendly server. You get loads of meat and help yourself to potato's and veg etc . In the summer, sit outside as there's plenty of space, and they have introduced some cosy pods, too. Coffee shop and ice creams are also available just at the side of the hotel. There is plenty of space to park at a small charge, which is reimbursed if you spend £5 in the pub, which basically makes the parking free. Nice atmosphere and in a nice area. Staff are always welcoming and friendly, and service is quick at the bar. Keep up the good work”

Crewe Hall Hotel & Spa
● Open“We stayed here overnight on a spa deal and wow, we were blown away. The drive up to the castle is just wow!! The castle has so much history and we really enjoyed walking around reading about everything. The staff are really friendly and we even got shown personally to our room which was a lovely touch. I can't remember the man who took us but he was very informative and I was happy to meet another step counter - ha. We used the spa and again, super helpful. I forgot to pack a bobbly for myself and the lady on reception looked everywhere and managed to find one and she came and gave me it which I was so so so grateful for - THANKS!! The real show stealer for me on this visit was the gym... it's not your average dusty aged spa gym. This is a top spec gym with an absolute huge variety of equipment it's insane. The gym manager was really friendly and showed me around. If I am to visit again.... I will be spending more time in the gym ha!!!”

Obviously this isn't quite as good as being there in person but it was absolutely brilliant and a lot easier than travelling to London.
