Comfort Inn & Suites Ft.Jackson Maingate

"Check in was fast and easy. Staff were pleasant. Room was decent. There weren't enough towels and the sofa bed didn't have sheets or blankets. We got from front desk. Breakfast was ok. My biggest complaint is that the indoor pool and gym were closed. These were 2 must haves for a room. I wasn't advised of either, not even at check in. We're here for my son's graduation from basic training and as soon as we get him today we're checking out of this hotel and going to another that has amenities advertised! I will be asking for some type of compensation for the inconvenience! The listing needs to be changed! Oh and it's been a year since it's been up and running."

"There was no heat in the room. Rag stuffed in hole that was in the wall. Receptacles in bathroom no covers. Stain in tub. Long story short, slept with my clothes on. People at the desk and lady for breakfast in the morning were pleasant. Other than that, worst place I have ever stayed in. You decide, but I would not recommend."

"4:45 am and a dog is barking nonstop. I'm a deep sleeper and it woke me up. No chance of going back to sleep. Yes, a dog. Inside the hotel. Owners 'left for the day' according to the front desk clerk who was clearly embarrassed by this situation. I was going to get past a lot of the issues with this property because I am just here for work this week alone, just need a bed and a place to sleep and shower. But this ridiculous episode killed that. The property is in bad shape. No AC in hallways or common areas. Horrible water pressure. You get more from a camping bag hanging off a tree branch. Constant state of 'remodeling' but there is no actual work being done the whole time I've been here, just signs everywhere and everything in shambles. Almost as if they hung up the signs to excuse the disaster. There are MUCH better options up and down Garners Ferry Road, including La Quinta next door for the same price. Avoid this place until they get the property fixed. And make sure when you check-in that they haven't allowed guests with animals to just leave them in their rooms all day."

"I have been to a few other hotels in the area and this is one of the good ones. Not only was the staff great, but the rooms were not nasty. It seems the surrounding area or even properties 20 minutes away are just horrid. I noticed it was clean from the parking lot, lobby, all the way to my room. I read some reviews that people got stuck in renovation times. I think I got one of those updated rooms. It was lovely after some other places I've experienced. I didn't get a strong smell like others have mentioned, so I think it's been handled with them getting those updates done. They are still working on rooms, but you can't really tell. I brought my service dog with me, as the hotel mentions it's pet friendly (I know I can take her anywhere, but it's easier this way) and she had no issues. There is a small area of grass out front that she could use. A small hiccup was a storm knocked out the TVs in the hotel. I called front desk because we didn't know at the time and they were still very patient and friendly with informing us what was going on and what they had already completed in getting it fixed. I know people were calling and calling, but they did not let affect their customer service. I usually don't, but I did wander over to the breakfast area because it smelt that good. It was very clean and even had a staff member present to assist. The only negative things I can mention are if I want to be really picky. Full sentences can't be heard through walls, but conversation can. There were also some people hanging out in the parking lot late and were loud. I was on the 1st floor, so they were close to our window. And as far as parking, it's not as bad as people say. At least when I was there. I'm not sure if the hotel maybe wasn't as full, but we both had a spot in the front of the building pretty close to the door."
