“We ate here 2 nights running, a Friday and Saturday. All our meals were excellent, starters and mains. We did have to book in advance and certainly Saturday was fully booked. This is a husband and wife team, Jane serving and front of house and Andy in the kitchen. Our meals were plentiful and very tasty. Andy clearly knows how to combine ingredients. Jane was very friendly and informative. Would certainly recommend and wouldn't hesitate to go again. Thank you for great meals.”

“Me and my husband shared the sizzling chicken platter. Absolutely delicious. Had bread to mop up the gravy/juices. Waiter was informative and friendly. Definitely gi again. Atmosphere very cosy. Although had to get a torch to read the menu as it was too dark to read it.”

“Lovely food and very nice atmosphere! My boyfriend said it’s the best British cooking so far. He is quite picky about food and I rarely hear such a high comment from him about the restaurants we ate in. If you are travelling in Sandown beach, definitely worth coming for coffee or meal. The crab sandwich, white sauce mussels and coffee lattee is highly recommended!”

“I had my first experience of the Old Tea House today. A few members of my family and I visited for my mums birthday. The food was very yummy and service was great. The experience was made especially good for me as I had my one year old with me. I only bring a few snacky bits with me for my one year old as she doesn't eat much yet but a lot of establishments don't like that I bring her own food rather than purchase something from the menu. Today, at the Old Tea House a member of staff saw my daughter, asked how old she was and then offered her a plate of chicken and ham! We delightfully accepted and moments later she was given a big plate of ham, chicken and cheese! She didn't eat much of it and majority ended up on the floor but it was just such a lovely gesture. I was also then told not to worry about cleaning up the floor as 'she's one, it's to be expected. We have a dust pan and brush, don't worry'. This is hands down the best experience I've had eating out since becoming a mum. What a lovely family friendly place! Thank you.”

“No problem with parking in the multi story early on a Sunday morning at 0930. Gets busier as the city wakes up. On a sunny lunch hour, the outdoor seating appealed but there were not enough parasols to cover every table. Many customers must have fried in the heat. We chose inside and were the 2nd group seated. Again, it filled up later through the meal, so by dessert, the place was full, inside and out. Service began to slow as the crowd increased. No surprise there. Drink orders were taken quickly and arrived with plenty of ice and a small bowl of nibbles. No starters but 3 different mains. Risotto, Meatballs and Loaded chips. All these were cooked from scratch in the open kitchen, with indoor, outdoor and delivery orders competing for the chefs attention. A short wait but we'll worth every mouthful. A huge chunk of Parmesan was shaved on dishes as requested and we tucked in. Not a scrap remained. For dessert the Limoncella slice and a banana brownie were shared and devoured. Refreshing and delicious. Definately recommended for a special occasion and a view like no other.”

“Me and 3 girlfriends had a fabulous lunch here, we had lots of starters to share and each had the steak for mains, it was all absolutely delicious. Prior to our meal we advised that I had some allergies, on arrival Karen (front of house) talked me through the menu and explained all the options and how they could accommodate me. It was brilliant service and the food and drink was incredible. We would definitely recommend!”

“Lovely food, wonderful staff, relaxed atmosphere. What a treat to be able to visit Restaurant 27 again. If you are looking for that " Little Special place" look no further. No parking but after 6pm you can park along the seafront free. I was a little concerned that I might feel cold whilst in the restaurant but I didn't feel that at all. It was lovely and warm. Decorated lovely with Christmas bits.”
