“The feed me was absolutely delicious. So much care and love was put into our meal. And we were constantly surprised as they brought out more and more food. This is by far one of the best feed me menus in Perth. And the cocktails were so delicious too - love the metal straw! The service was immaculate and drink suggestions were spot on.”

“An accidental find on our return from beach to our hotel. We stumbled upon happy hour which was great value at $8 a pint! Really lovely staff and great beer we were well pleased with ourselves. Also the John Boyle O'Reilly poem and mural was the icing on the cake.”

“This place has far better ambience than the last time I was here. The staff are far more friendly and no longer wear the same drab blue uniform. “Was there for lunch on Sunday day. Service was perfect, with not a single order messed up. There were 7 of us for lunch. Place was fairly busy also, and we weren't left waiting long for our orders. Food itself was filling. I've been to many places where the plates are barely filled, but the menu and food were plenty. Shared a meat dish between two people and both of us were very impressed. All 7 of us left very please with our time spent, and I'd definitely be returning again.”

“Had a wonderful time with our guide Vaughan. He was so helpful and knowledgeable about the history and architecture. He was also very helpful as our ride was late and we had to rework our day. Vaughan got it all done and we had a wonderful time learning about Fremantle and the impact of the convicts. Thanks for a lovely day.”

“Visited this gem last night ( Saturday night) it was freezing but the staff kindly put out not one but two heaters , they were very attentive, friendly and the food was incredible, my friends and I loved it so much we were there for 5 hours and will be back!”

“Nice place, the people working there are very friendly and helpful. Stayed one night in the double twin room, very clean and so was the rest of the upstairs bathroom and common area. Nice little touches like leaving newspapers, travel brochures and magazines out are small but not insignificant. Would definitly stay again! Cheers guys.”

“I've been here a couple of times now. Once for an afternoon cocktail on the deck and for dinner with my wife. Fantastically sparkly, cosy, queer space. Great selection of bites and cocktails, tap beers and wines. DJ every Saturday night, drag shows and right in the heart of Fremantle. Can't wait to return.”

“Have stayed here multiple times and really like the place! The Chester room is awesome. I like the character of the place. Shared bathrooms are modern, clean and well stocked. Seamless check-in, very relaxed staff. Parking can be tight in the evenings, but I've always managed to snag a spot. As popular a spot as it is, I havent had any issues with noise at night. The food is great! Lots of good choices on the menu, but I havent been able to get past the lamb rack! Great spot on the main drag and very fairly priced accomodation”

“Such a gem in the heart of Fremantle! We loved the food drinks, service and ambience of the location. We ordered such tasty plates of Aranchini, Cuttlefish, Barramundi, Gnocci and Duck meat pie. The plates came out one at a time, we got to enjoy every bite. The mocktail was so refreshing. The venue was also very relaxing, surrounded by gorgeous blossomed leafy tree. The staff were super friendly and organised. Making sure we are relaxed. What an experience and we will come back again. Great to support local business with authentic cuisine and first class service!”

“Another wonderful meal at YG. The highlights were the beef chop chop tartare, the bone marrow beef and the carrots.Always enjoy the selections at YG and great service and atmosphere too. The milk bun ramen fried chicken was not a favourite and the zucchini was too vinegary, but overall a great meal.”

“Has a good selection of beer on tap Huge beer garden out the back, dogs are welcome. Burgers are the speciality and their really nice, at $19 for a big cheeseburger with pickles onion lettuce Tim tomato cheese and a decent piece of meat, makes for a good meal. Sit inside or on the beer garden, both can cater for a 100 or more patrons, watch sport on the wall mounted screens, great music, really nice atmosphere. Rest rooms are out the back and are nice and clean, got a wheel chair or walker for those that have trouble getting around, no problem, as there is a ramp into the place, care for a game of pool, it caters for those who like a game as well. Plenty of parking available.”
