"Wonderful confluence of the Maumee and Auglaize rivers. My wife's 6th great-grandfather (George Purtee Sr.) fought under General Anthony Wayne troops in this area. He was later wounded in the thigh during the battle of Fallen Timbers."

"It’s a very small but pleasant park. There are several placards explaining the history of the old fort. Some of the history is a bit unsavory as it involves violence against Native Americans. There’s plenty of parking at the library."
