Hudson Valley 9w motel

"I stayed here for a couple weeks till I found an apartment. I had a better stay here than at one of the commercial hotels very clean very clean The people that own it are very nice and good people. Great location."

"Rooms look ok but boy are looks deceiving. I checked in with my wife and we enjoyed an evening of shopping and dining. We returned to our room later that night and found that the remote for the t.v. was a universal remote, no biggie, except captions were stuck on with no way to turn them off without the t.v. remote, the screen was also stuck on energy saver or something bc the picture only appeared in the center and was distorted, there was at least 6 inches of blank screen on each side and with the captions to boot it was difficult to watch anything with clarity. We decided to stay another night bc there were still some local sights we wanted to see. I notified the manager at 10:30 that I was going to the ATM to get cash to pay for another night. I stopped for coffee and was on my way back to the motel when my wife called me and said the manager was knocking on the door 10 minutes before checkout time and stated that if was not there within 10 minutes that she must empty the room of our belongings and stand outside until I returned with payment. I understand that she was within her legal rights to do so by checkout time but it really rubbed me the wrong way and as I pulled in at exactly 11 a.m. to see my wife carrying suitcases and such out to the sidewalk with the manager standing in the doorway watching her every move, the decision was made to never return this place again. My wife found a cockroach while packing up so needless to say, the rudeness and lack of compassion by the manager turned out to be a blessing in disguise. This motel was booked because of lack of other options, all other local hotels were at capacity so we have it a shot and couldn't regret it more. I will add that the guests that were staying there all seemed very friendly but the manager/owner is not a nice person and is the major reason why I only rate one star. If you have a choice, avoid this motel and it's angry prison guard-esq manager."

"Because it is clean and honestly it's very open out here everyone is mostly friendly and there's no bugs it's the nicest motel I been in upstate. It's also a calm area and there is another motel and hotel is your don't have a vehicle there are stores walking distance, laundry mat too and gas stations one in 24/7 which is awesome."
