Greater Oneonta Historical Society
Welcome to the Greater Oneonta Historical Society, a cornerstone of cultural preservation located at 183 Main Street, Oneonta, New York. Since 1939, we have been dedicated to preserving the rich heritage of the greater Oneonta area and engaging our community through educational programs and exhibits. Please note that our History Center will be temporarily closed from Monday, August 12 to Monday, September 2 for essential entryway tilework restoration. During this period, we will offer “office hours” by appointment every Saturday in August (8/17, 8/24, 8/31) from 10 AM to 4 PM. These appointments will allow for visits to our first-floor exhibitions, research inquiries, collections and auction donations, and gift shop purchases.
