The Freight House Cafe
The Freight House Cafe, located at 609 U.S. 6 in Mahopac, New York, is a charming cafe and store nestled behind Putnam Music & Salon Uccelli. Dine under the trees during the week from 9am-3pm and Friday nights from 7pm-10pm on their outdoor deck, which is conveniently located right off the North County bike trail. Dogs are welcome on the outside deck only. Steeped in history, The Freight House was built in 1872 as the first building for the New York Central and Hudson River Railroad branch. The line served freight and passengers from Golden's Bridge to Grand Central Terminal for over 50 years. Today, the cafe is a dream come true for the owner, who was born in Carmel and always had a passion for serving the community through food.
