"go in today for a stress test for my niece and they tell her she is not able to have a child with her in the waiting area and sent us downstairs. there are no signs saying this and what if she is unable to have someone watch her child? she is 2 days from delivery. this is not a family friendly hospital at all. so far in the past two months. my other daughter was in the emergency room coughing and having chest pains for over 3 hours without being seen. they were rude and unprofessional. I also work in a hospital and have never heard of such treatment. I am not sure what happened to the hospital of years ago with my mom's treatment as well as having my own child here."
"experienced an allergic reaction – my face swelled, and I struggled to breathe. Despite seeking assistance, the receptionist only took my insurance without inquiring about my condition. I waited an hour, facing breathing difficulties, with no one checking on me. The nurses appeared indifferent, even laughing. When I asked about seeing the a doctor , the nurses were rude, making me wait while they chatted. The emergency room failed to provide immediate care, leaving me feeling neglected and unsupported. I ultimately requested the receptionist to remove my name, and she complied without empathy.""
"My mom got involved in car accident the ambulance took her there. Very bad experience. All personal act as they don’t love what they do. My mother and I waited for 3 hrs just then a nurse came and checked pressure then after 2 more hours I went to see when the doctor is going to check my mom they say you have to wait another 30 min to 1 hr but my mom was the next one. And it was not that busy . We got there at 2 am and left around 8 am. The nurses and doctors were sitting just chatting . We couldn’t take anymore and left the place. PS: All bad reviews comments are true."
"I used to have so much respect for this hospital and there are still some individual heroes and really good people here. But as a system it's a terrible hospital where doctors come check you at 5am while you're asleep for 5 minutes. Have any questions? Better get them out then tho I've learned the doctors will ignore you if one of the students they've brought along for the ride have something. You're lucky the doc even looked at you. ER? Oh that's a joke. My nurse didn't check on me for her entire shift and when I complained she told me that was normal. They lost my friggin shoes and didn't care. When I left the hospital and followed up with the doctor they told me he was on vacation for the next two months. My appendix burst! Guess I should just wait? Please Methodist do better. Brooklyn deserves better and right now as a hospital system you are playing yourself. The actual good doctors and nurses there deserve better. At this time I wouldn't recommend anyone go here. This hospital is terrible."
"I love this hospital, yet last night was disappointing. I totally get the ER procedure, to take care of those with more pain. Yet there needs to be a procedure to get ALL patients in and out. There should be at least 1 designated Doctor for those that are not experiencing as much pain, to get them in and out to make room for others. We waited over 5 hours, for a cat scan that took 5 minutes and results that came in 10 minutes. Let me add that they administered a percocet pill, Tylenol and a pill for vomiting, to my mom without even asking how her pain was, which she stated was a 1 on the pain scale when asked during triage. 3 doctors came to the room to perform the same test, which included them asking my mom to watch their finger with her eyes, it was just so unorganized. Not to mention that a gentleman came in the room as we were about to exit to take out an IV that my mom never had in. They need to have a better system in place for the checks and balance of the quality of care as a whole. There was a nurse that was amazing, she continued to check on us and even provided us with beverages and a snack because she saw how long we were there for. Because of her and the fact that everyone from the doctors to the receptions were respectful, pleasant and nice I gave them 2 stars but the system needs to be checked. There were also so many nurses and staff just sitting around or on their phones."
