"Guy forgot he had an appointment and gave my boyfriend a basic haircut he hated, cut his face 3 times during the shave too, what a waste of time and money we won't be back"

"i really would rate this a one but they did try, so i walk in hoping to get a combover and i show the barber the photo, they say yea and they get to work, they did do well until the second half they started trimming 3/4 after i said only a half, the barber also never asked if i wanted square or pointy sideburns so they just went with square, also they decided to put my hair up when i said i put it to the side, i did say this verbally and either they didn’t hear me or they ignored me. also they made my hairline go inwards instead of being a rectangle, they also didn’t remove the hair on my cheek after sliding it over and now i cant trim it and it’s stuck there, also they used a type of chemical that gave my skin a allergic reaction afterwards, they also said my other barber did a bad job however they do a better job and they understand what i want in a haircut, i really am disappointed because i did come here before and it wasn’t this bad but it was tolerable, but this would be the last time i come here."

"I've heard great things about Avenue barbershop but experiencing it was much better. My previous barber sold his business and moved, so I was looking for someone reliable with excellent skills. Having a fresh haircut has always helped me feel more confident in every room I enter, and boy, I am not disappointed by what I experienced. I love that they use booksy, which allows me to schedule an appointment without charging an extra fee for holding my time slot. Since we live in a busy world, having a busy barber take me as soon as I arrive is a game changer (NYC problems). The shop is clean and edgy, with a massive logo on a black tiled accent wall. All the staff is friendly and working, which is an excellent sign right off the bat. Roman was my barber, and as promised, he was there with his seat brushed clean and ready for me. We spoke of what type of haircut I was interested in (Medium drop skin fade with a volumized combover), and he made a couple of great suggestions along the way. The man is truly a skilled barber through and through. I came out of that chair with one of the best haircuts I've had in a long time. Ladies and gentlemen, I have found my new barber!!! Those who look for a good cut know how big of a deal it is to trust someone of the first cut. Thanks for the incredible fade and for making me feel at home. I'll see you again in two weeks!"

"Barbershop appears to be very clean and the workspace environment was great, i was a walk in so i was very grateful they decided to cut me however the clippers that was used for my cut was definitely not clean shortly after the cut I received razor bumps i have not gotten razor bumps in the last 6 years so i know it had to be the clippers not to mention after the cut the barber didn’t use alcohol or after shave other than this i was pleased with the experience"

"Best shop, GREAT barbers! These men are the real deal! They are old school barbers in a modern and classy shop! They always have patience with my 8 year old, I never tell them how to cut it because I trust them to make him look amazing. My oldest son, 19, switched barbershops after experiencing the atmosphere and witnessing the welcoming treatment his little brother receives and the professionalism and artistry each barber exudes. I will be sad to have to say goodbye but had to show respect, especially when it is so well deserved."
