Clarion Pointe Rochester Monroe Avenue

"The price did not match the value this seems to be missing it’s employees. A one night stay with two beds was $158. The day before we stayed at an Econo Lodge in Virginia that was only $78 for the same deal, and it had hot breakfast. We had hoped to stay at the Comfort Inn close to this hotel, but by no surprise it was full. Of the worrying issues was the complete absence of employees in the building. When I looked at my bank statement it revealed the Comfort Inn billed me, not Clarion Pointe. I would have to believe that the employees are coming from the Comfort Inn, that is why you have to call an outside number to get anyone to help. The employees are well trained to not reveal this bit of information, but because of the abnormally long time it takes for an employee to show up this make’s perfect sense. The funny thing is there is a profusion of fruit in the lobby at all times. I am betting this is a strategy to make you feel like you aren’t being hoodwinked by the owners, and to keep you distracted while the needed employee comes from the other hotel. Aside from that the room we stayed in was less than expected for the price. There is a giant mural on the wall that did not add to the ambiance, but I do agree that the hard floors for the first floor rooms were nice. I wanted to add photos, but google isn’t letting me right now."

"I had to cancel my reservation due to a quite unfortunate and unexpected situation. The Hotel frontdesk (Nov 19 2023, 5PM) was very caring, helpful, and understanding, and did everything they could to help me out. I really appreciate their support, and I will surely choose Clarion Pointe next time I go to Rochester."

"Honestly, I don’t know what the fuss is over this hotel. I concur there was No elevator, (but we knew that), thin walls and noise from the highway, (but we sleep like the dead) and not a warm breakfast (had cereal, yogurt, fruit and granola bars). But The bed and pillows were amazing, the TV big and easy to use and we Loved the cool floors. The front desk guy was great and there were signs everywhere about taking care of customers. The price we paid was low so we didn’t expect the Ritz. I would stay here again."

"We had a few hiccups in our stay (a backed up sink, a hole in our sheets, lackluster service from the front desk, etc.), but Silas the manager/owner was very professional and handled our complaints/concerns promptly once he was made aware. Truthfully, had he been there our entire stay I think we would have had few to no complaints. The location was great for our needs. Very close to family and downtown Pittsford/Penfield. Bed was comfortable, water was hot, maids brought plenty of towels. Breakfast was sparse, but there was a coffee machine that offered several options."

"Fair price as far as hotels go. Staff is nice and friendly. Room was clean and has a large fridge. There's a small workout area and a few free breakfast options. The location of the hotel itself is a bit difficult to drive in to or out of. The bed was not very comfy and the sheets/comforter were so rough they could almost scratch your skin. Windows don't open and the air conditioner is so loud it's like a freight train going through your room. You can't sleep with it on. No cable, only YouTube TV. The walls are very thin. I could hear everyone's conversations. Be sure to bring earplugs if you want to sleep past 6am."
