The Machine Gun Nest

"Probably the best range in the DMV for casual shooters. Unlike a lot of ranges that make up random rules like "no steel case" or "no rapid fire", the Machine Gun Nest is a lot more accommodating and casual about what shooters can do on the range (granted you aren't doing anything dangerous). Even with more lax rules, they still put a massive emphasis on safety, and I can definitely say I've always felt safe on the range. In terms of rental options, they've got some good options. Their selection of handguns is vast, and they've got some great machine gun options (that I've unfortunately been unable to shoot because I'm not 21). They've got some interesting rifles to boot. The only negative is that the guns aren't exactly in perfect condition, and I've definitely noticed some are pretty worn out, but I can't blame the range, just because all the guns have had thousands of rounds run through them, and they don't exactly have the time to clean them after every shooter. Either way, I've never felt like any of the rentals were going to explode in my hands. As for pricing, it's not that bad. For $25 you get an hour of range time (not including prices for the rental and ammo). The rentals aren't too expensive, excluding the machine guns but that's expected because they're machine guns, but ammunition will definitely make up the most of your bill. Once again, can't blame them for ammunition being expensive. Ammo has gone up in price because of import bans, panic buying, and inflation in general. Overall, the facilities are great, the staff is knowledgeable, the prices aren't bad, and they aren't overly strict with rules like most indoor ranges (once again, they do take safety extremely seriously). I've never had a bad experience here, and I'll continue to make the 30 minute trip here to shoot (I'm even considering getting a membership)."

"Great place and amazing staff. William J Reid was my instructor, and was amazing. My wife and I were new to the gun world, and he helped ease us in through his classes. The staff are amazing and encouraging. I went to other gun ranges before and it was nice to not spoken down to or made to feel like I was an idiot. I recently purchased my first firearm through them, and from start to finish the service is excellent. This is not a place to just go shoot at a range, but the training, range accommodations, and overall environment make it a wonderful hub for all of your gun needs. William Reid, really emphasized gun safety and made my wife and I comfortable enough with getting our CCW. The only thing I wish they offered was like an hour first time class. I would not recommend bringing your entire family or a bunch of people new to guns with you. I think that if they had a little mini class, a lot of people would not mind paying for it. It can also get crowded, and the one on one help is not amazing. However, this comment does not take away from how great the range is, just a suggestion. Becoming a member here was nice enough that I even bought my wife's family a family membership to be able to go to the range. Renting guns is easy and efficient. When they let me shoot the mp5 they had, the staff member walked me though everything and was encouraging me the whole way. In all this is best gun range I have been to, and gives you the biggest bang for your dollar."

The folks here at MGN are very knowledgeable, patient and very friendly specially when someone like myself hadn't handled a firearm in such a long time! I had a lot of fun getting to handle and shoot an AK47 and a Desert eagle in .357 magnum. I'm definitely becoming a life long customer! A++ Facility!"

"First time to this range with my friend who is member, so he gets gun for free and I had to pay 15 buck for mu gun. We bought 2 box of ammo and safety kit which ended up close to 75$. I could see almost 12 lanes, but they are very small place that could fit only one person which is what its intent for. Staff were super friendly and quite informative.
