“This is a beautifully decorated, rustic, enchanting hotel. The 400 year old building is very comfy and warm. An extremely relaxing environment. A fairytale feeling to the aptly named Wizards retreat. Welcomed by the owner Ian and introduced to the area, given plenty of ideas for eating and day out opportunities. The suite (Merlin Suite) was extremely comfortable, warm and a delightful place to stay. Cake, biscuits, teas and coffees and toiletries all included and of a high quality. Just an absolutely delightful stay which we plan to repeat to experience one of the other suites there.”

“Such a great vibe. All staff friendly and accommodating. The pizza is all handmade and fresh and cooked next to the bar. Its amazing how well coordinated they all are and quite fun to watch them work. Bar staff attentive and drinks are good quality and reasonably priced. Amazing pizza dough and great selection of toppings too.”

“Would highly recommend Dazzle the Clown. Easy to book, arrived in good time and set up with no issues. Thoroughly entertained the kids and made sure everyone got a turn. He knew all the kids names and was funny, had them all sitting and listening well. Fantastic entertainer and seemed like a nice man. Deserves 5 stars.”

“The venue was superb as a host to the Fish Lip Soup BigBand. Excellent stage, lighting and audio. The Theatre also arranged the seating for the audience in Covid precaution manner with distancing. Great venue.”

Booked in here for Lunch and can honestly say as an Ex Chef myself, The Mixed Grill was out of this world, The best I've had by a mile. My Steak was cooked to perfection. The sharing platters are devine! The extra care and attention given to our 3 year old was great and she enjoyed the experience as much as we did. Very highly recommended for a family meal out.”

“I’ve just had their beyond meat burger and it’s by far the best burger I’ve ever had! Not just vegan/vegetarian but any burger. It was so flavoursome and well presented. The chips were great too! Delivery was quick and I loved that the packaging didn’t include any plastic.”
