Romantic evening spot in Oldham

“Visited in the morning with a friend for some breakfast. We ordered the English breakfast and the desi one. Both were very hearty. A very warm welcome from the staff, service was great and overall a lovely place. Will definitely recommend and I'll coming back again. We finished off with dessert. A peanut butter stack and the chocolate churros all freshly made really enjoyed it. Huge thank you and well done to the staff x All the best x ❤”

“My daughter, son in law and 3 year old grandson took me here tonight for my birthday meal. My son in law is vegan and for the first time in ages managed to have a starter and a main course which didn't involved a burger! My sea bream was delicious. They kindly cooked my grandson's main course whilst the adults were on starters. The waiter was excellent and the food was well cooked and very tasty. My grandson would like to know where all the money has gone as he and Daddy went to the toilet in the safe and he couldn't see any cash!”

“If you want authentic locally sourced 'pub grub' then this definitely is the place to go. The place is up in the hills and on entry you'll notice the old fashioned, authentic surroundings. It's very warm, lit by a woodburning fire has great beer, friendly service and delicious food. We'll be back thats for sure. Ps here's a tip.. Parking is a nightmare!! The car park is very small and surroundings are quite restricted due to residential housing and hills, expect your car to get dirty and don't drive up your brand new whip”

“Great place, I’m so glad we found it this time. Google maps sends you to a road in Shaw. So ensure you type in the actual address when wanting to come here and not click directions from google :) it will save you a 20 mins drive lol Great service, food is top notch, prices are good with a great atmosphere. Definitely will be back. They have gluten free bread. Although not celiac friendly, as the kitchen is not set up for A gluten free station. They did ensure the bread was grilled away from the areas wheat had touched. Kids menu available and also a Dog menu too. The staff were really helpful.”

“Fabulous food & lovely atmosphere, it was our first visit here & we'll definitely return. We tried the pizza's but the Italian standard dishes that everyone else were ordering looked fantastic. The decor is a little dated but if you value food quality over a restaurant "looking modern" then definitely go here.”

The staff made my birthday special they made such an effort with my cake and cocktail, singing and recording it and asking permission to post it what a lovely gesture. “Oh my god, this is the best kebab I've ever eaten in my entire life. I'm from out of the area so looked up local takeaways on just eat and I'm glad I chose to order here. The meat is like nothing I've ever tasted and the guys behind the counter couldn't have been anymore friendlier. Even threw in a free drink for my son. I'm very impressed and will definitely be back when I'm next in the area. Mind = blown!”

“I visited this restaurant for the first time and I must say I was really impressed with the service and food served. Their Lobster meal was massive and tasted good, along with the african meal (Amala and Okra soup) I ordered. I would 100% recommend this place and they also do deliveries if you think of it.”

“This is a lovely, authentic (quirky), little Italian in Delph village. Lorenzo knows how to cook! If you want somewhere more authentic than a modern, standard restaurant with a huge menu, you really should give it a try, and support a small, local business. The pizzas are always great (no stuffed crust nonsense here) and the special, home made burger (2 delicious burgers in fact, in home made sourdough, not some floppy brioche, with skinny fries and slaw), was excellent. There's a review from a while back that refers to frozen food; absolute nonsense. Everything home made and cooked to order. Great food and service!”

“We have been dining at zing & zest for the past 7 years and can honestly say we enjoy it every time we go. The staff & manager are friendly, helpful and knowledgeable about their dishes. They will tweak a dish if possible or advise on which you'd enjoy based on your spice tolerance. We've probably tried most of the menu but here are some of our favourites dishes are, Starters - Lamb namkeen boti, chicken chaat puri & spicy hot rods. Mains - Lamb saagwala, Shashlik exotic karahi and Murgh Akbai. We also enjoy the Sunday buffet, which is a bargain! There's a choice of 4 different Starters and 4 different curries (1 is usually tikka masala for the kids) in the hot plates, then you order fresh rice and breads with the waiter when your ready for your main and he'll bring it over. Gives you chance to try dishes you've never had before, we love it. We have introduced many people to zing & zest over the years who have also fell in love with it. It's always our go to place to take friends & family to dine out, as we know we'll be looked after and well fed. Our kids also love it here, it's our daughter 1st choice everytime. We love supporting our local Indian. As our daughter says "Zing & Zest, is the Best!"”

“I was in oldham to see some family early in the morning so felt like a desi breakfast. Googled up and found this place called The Grill, first thought is its a beautiful place very spacious and friendly staff, also the place is very clean. I got the desi breakfast which as in the picture is daal, spicy omelette and a homemade paratha and a potato dish too. I didnt get the chaii as already had one before i came so i went for the fresh orange juice. The food was lovely and I have never been a fan of when they give a shana paratha so having the homemade one was a nice touch. I also got a grilled chicken burger to take away and again that was delicious. Price wise its very fair and affordable and would reccomend this place as it also does a halal english breakfast option too. If you in the area defo try it and im sure you wont b dissapointed.”

“My partner and myself have just returned from a fantastic 2 course meal at this little treasure of a pub. The 3 for £10 starters were presented beautifully and were delicious, and our main courses were equally impressive. The portions were extremely generous, the landlord and the young lady on the bar were extremely friendly and helpful, the chef was lovely and everything was just perfect. One of the best meals out we've had for a long time!”
