About the Business

Cross Keys Inn

Looking for a cozy yet lively spot to grab a bite or a drink in Oldham? Look no further than Cross Keys Inn! Nestled in the charming village of Uppermill, this bar and restaurant is a popular haunt for locals and visitors alike.

Whether you're in the mood for a hearty meal or just a quick pint, Cross Keys Inn has got you covered. The kitchen serves up a range of classic pub fare, from savory pies to juicy burgers to fresh fish and chips. There are also plenty of vegetarian and gluten-free options available, so everyone can find something to suit their taste buds. For those with a sweet tooth, the dessert menu is not to be missed – think indulgent cheesecakes, sticky toffee puddings, and homemade ice cream.

Of course, no visit to a British pub would be complete without a proper pint, and Cross Keys Inn certainly delivers in that regard. The bar features a rotating selection of local and regional ales, as well as a well-stocked wine list and a range of spirits and cocktails. Whether you're sipping on a frosty beer in the sun-soaked beer garden or cozying up by the fireplace with a dram of whiskey, there's no better place to while away an afternoon or evening in Uppermill.

Beyond its food and drink offerings, Cross Keys Inn also boasts a rich history and cultural heritage. The building itself dates back to the 19th century, and has served as a gathering place for villagers, travelers, and even artists and writers over the years. Today, it remains a beloved fixture of Uppermill's social scene and a must-visit destination for anyone passing through the area.

In short, Cross Keys Inn is much more than just a bar or restaurant – it's a true point of interest and a treasured part of the local community. So why not come on in, pull up a stool, and make yourself at home? We can't wait to welcome you.

"Fantastic lamb roast in a lovely pub with lots of character and great views. The staff are really welcoming and service is fantastic. A lovely place to spend a Sunday afternoon."

"Very fast service and a cosy atmosphere, the real fire is very welcoming after a long walk! I visited in a Saturday afternoon without booking and there were no tables for food available. We still stayed for a drink and the scenery from the outdoor seating area was fantastic. I would recommend booking in advance if you would like to eat though."

"It’s a lovely cosy pub in a beautiful spot but since change of ownership the food is much less good. The beef was poor quality, the chilli con carne tasteless, and sauces served in a tiny paper thimble that I’d expect to get at a theme park rather than a nice pub meal. Shame really as it’s got such great potential and dog friendly too."
