The Kings Arms
● Closed“Great traditional pub with a good range of drinks. Friendly staff & a warm atmosphere. Definitely worth a visit for a couple beers. I've not been in while the live music has been on but can imagine this would be a brilliant venue. I will be calling in again very soon.”

The Gas Lamp
● Closed“A favourite of ours since moving to Manchester. Friendly staff, chilled vibe and great selection of beers in an authentic, vintage environment. It's a hidden gem, down some stairs in a basement and stands out from the usual garish, chain or flashy cocktail bars of Spinningfields.”

Dimitri's - Tapas Meze Bar & Restaurant
● Closed“Great find in central Manchester - good deal in Deansgate. An excellent place in the city centre, with a warm welcome, efficient service, and great atmosphere. And absolutely delicious food to boot. The restaurant has the feel of a city centre pub on entering, but behind and beyond the first room is a series of smaller areas with a distinctly greek taverna feel. Access is all on one level, and whilst the general toilets are down stairs, there is a ground level accessible toilet for those with limited mobility. The staff were delightful and the food came very quickly after ordering. There’s a good range of both meat food and meat free food. And a good range of beers and wines. The price is very reasonable. Certainly a place to go again next time I’m in town.”

Jimmy’s Killer Prawns
● Closed13-25 Liverpool Road, Salford M3 4NW, United Kingdom“Honestly amazing and will make you want to return. Food sizes are brilliant. They also cater for halal eaters. Don’t order extra chips, there’s that much on one plate! Lovely customer service. Gloves given to avoid messiness. Just not a fan of how open the windows are with the public walking by watching as we eat haha. But overall it’s definitely a place where the family want to go to. Will be visiting again.”

Wah Ji Wah
● Closed“We had our celebratory wedding meal here last summer and could not thank Manish and the team enough for there fantastic hospitality and flexibility. They were kind enough to open the restaurant just for us and our guests for the afternoon. We had thalis and Manish was happy to tailor the menu to meet all our guests dietary requirements. Everyone loved the food which was cooked fresh, was authentic and was full of flavour. The staff were really friendly and couldn't do enough to help, they even let us do speeches and perform a song and joined in with the celebrations. Thank you Manish and your team for helping to make our wedding day so special.”

Grindsmith At Media City
● Open“Great coffee shop located in the MediaCity. It is very bright inside, with large floor-to-ceiling windows making two of the four walls. The interior is done in a minimalist style, dominated by colours like white, grey and black. However, it does not feel hostile. There are two floors, the upper floor is only accessible via stairs, but the ground floor can be accessible on a wheelchair. The music inside is on a louder side, so I don't think it is a right place if you like to read or focus with a cup of coffee. The staff are very friendly and welcoming. You make an order as you come in, pay, and then wait for it to be brought to your table. The service can be slow, but not because nobody cares, just nobody is in a rush. The flat white I ordered was great, very smooth and creamy. The drink size is quite small, but the taste makes up for it. The bake was also great. The prices are only slightly higher than in Starbucks or Costa Coffee, but the quality is superb. Overall, I think it is a great coffee shop for a cup of good coffee and friendly service.”

The Old Wellington
● Open“We had a fantastic meal at the Old Wellington, loved it! We booked a table on the day but they had plenty of space for dining. Our server, Tina, was fantastic, really attentive and cared that we had a great experience (she even double checked our beers were ok as we can some from the bottom of the barrel, replaced with no hesitation). The food (Ocean fish and chips, burger, fish platter and landlords platter) were all fantastic - really good value for a fantastic time. Highly recommend!”

-
M&S Foodhall
● Open“Nice little store squeezing lots of lovely bits and pieces in, also has a fresh bakery. Was a bit useless in the veggie/vegan front prior to Christmas but it's got loads of new items now, so as long as it's a permanent change and not just for January, I'll be going more often from now on. It's always clean and tidy with staff working hard. There's been a few occasions where I've had queries or needed assistance and the staff have been extremely helpful and approachable. I'm still missing my Little Waitrose, but happy to have found somewhere else nice to shop (eventually). It's a pleasant shopping experience; would prefer more manned checkouts though, can't abide self-service tills.”

Koreana Restaurant
● Closed“This is my second time visiting Koreana. The staff are professional and attentive. Everything is great. We ordered some BBQ dishes and they were perfectly seasoned. The BBQ also came with lettuce and a variety of sauces and pickled greens which complement them nicely. Every dish we have tried so far is amazing. And their homemade desserts are not to be missed. We always order their ice creams after a meal; they are refreshing and satisfying especially after a heavy BBQ dinner. Service is great. We ordered assorted pickles and were given just one type. We thought it was strange so asked a waiter who then immediately checked it for us. They quickly brought out the right dish and apologised for the mistake. So very pleased all in all. The only things I would nitpick on are that the portion seems a bit small for the price. But since they don’t charge a service fee the total bill is still quite reasonable. And also they tend to bring out all dishes at once so I’d recommend to order the desserts after you’ve finished with your meal. Definitely recommend and will always come back here for Korean BBQ.”
