“An awesome place with superb grub. I had The Houston burger with added brisket and pickles. Really nice thick juicy patty and high quality bacon & brisket. Just the right amount of sauce too. The bun was light but also held firm with the filling. The iron brew chicken fries were also delicious. Not a big fan of regular fries but these were crisp, fresh and well seasoned. Huge portion too! I also had tasty bbq beans and some refreshing coleslaw to cap a brilliant tray of food. A delightful experience in a quirky establishment with terrific friendly staff. Highly recommend trying it for yourselves.”

“If you want authentic locally sourced 'pub grub' then this definitely is the place to go. The place is up in the hills and on entry you'll notice the old fashioned, authentic surroundings. It's very warm, lit by a woodburning fire has great beer, friendly service and delicious food. We'll be back thats for sure. Ps here's a tip.. Parking is a nightmare!! The car park is very small and surroundings are quite restricted due to residential housing and hills, expect your car to get dirty and don't drive up your brand new whip”

“Super pub, a proper local. Only place in Chadderton town centre where you can get a good pint of real ale. Great friendly atmosphere too. The “Khartoum” is back to what it always was, the best pub in the area.”

“Family run pub with amazing food and a fantastic selection of drinks. If you're looking for a good night out with welcoming staff and locals or a really nice meal, I honestly can't recommend this place enough. The food is all cooked in house and sourced locally, you can really tell a lot of passion goes into the kitchen here.”

“Enjoyed a very nice meal at the waggon Inn. A little pricey considering you need to order potatoes and vegetables to go with your main if ordering lamb shank. Puds also pricey at £7.50 but decent portions. Good service.”

“This week we were fortunate enough to have our wedding at The White Hart. The whole staff and establishment couldn't have done anymore for us. Their attention to detail on the day was impeccable and even the smallest request was delivered with such enthusiam and the team were so personable. Even when small hiccups occured before the day Charles and his dedicated team made us feel so valued and wen't completely out their way to get everything the way we wanted it. We had comments from our guests that the quality of the food was the best they have had at a wedding and the venue looked incredible with the roaring fire and it's naturally cosy atmoshphere. The rooms were immaculate and incredibly warm and cosy with all details thought of. We'd like to express our sincere thanks and couldn't reccommend this venue and team more to deliver your special day. “A brilliant proper pub not a pretentious cocktail bar. Good selection of wines, spirits, beers and lagers. Landlord and landlady really nice people and very welcoming. Live music Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays. Live Sky Football. A good tap room as well. These proper type of pubs are dying out fast so we need to support them.”

“We were driving through Uppermill and stopped for a look around. We listened to the Brass band playing outside the Legion, popped into a few of the shops, bought some wares and on route back to the car park stepped into the Hare & Hounds. It was quieter than the other pubs we had passed, the combination of old look furniture and new look paint work still leaves the impression with a pleasant nostalgic feel to the past. The two female bar staff were lovely and friendly, as were the locals we spoke to. Very pleased we dropped in on a whim, I hasten to add the driver had a lime and soda. Look forward to dropping by again.”
