“Visited Coast for lunch today and was greeted by a very friendly member of staff who showed us to our lovely table in the conservatory part of the restaurant. Drinks were served very quickly which was good. Water was served as an addition without asking. We shared a pate starter followed by Risotto and a Pizza. The staff were very attentative and could not do enough.”

“This review is based on 1 particular meal, customer service, food quality and packaging in comparison to other takeaways I’ve been to in Manchester and London… I don’t usually give reviews unless I’ve been to a place on a number of occasions because sometimes like everyone else, we have bad days therefore, food or service might not be as consistent. However, fortunately to say - Heng Seng have been consistent over the years I have been going there. My review is based on the vegetable chow mien and chicken (halal) chow mien dishes alongside salt & pepper chips and prawn crackers (had other stuff too but I’m comparing to other takeaways). - Over the course of 5 years, me and my partner fell in love with their vegetable chow mien. Tonight, the chicken (halal) chow mien took that spot. Their chow mien is BANGING! Full of flavour, generous on the portion size and not just full of noodles (like some places). It’s not heavy on oil, doesn’t leave you feeling unhealthy or groggy - salt and pepper chips: again, good size, lots of flavour and not too much salt - prawn crackers: these are just right. A lot of places we’ve been to either tastes too fish or are too oily - so hands down, Heng Seng smashed it. We’ve always ordered our food then collected. Never had to wait long and customer service was always exceptional and first class. I’m not a food critic btw - I just know my flavours, oil and spices cos I’m an Asian! Plus I travel a lot. In summary, really impressed with this takeaway.”

“As a vegetarian I was thrilled to find this takeaway doing mock chicken and duck dishes. I've tried quite a few of the vegetarian dishes now and am absolutely made up that they make them so well. The vegetarian duck pancakes are DIVINE. My family who are meat eaters were also very impressed by the quality of the food. It arrived fresh and hot and the staff are very friendly and helpful on the phone. May now be my go to Chinese takeaway!”

“I loved the food. The sides were amazing and flavourful but not too heavy. The ramen was seasoned well, filling and I could honestly drink a bowls of the broth. And for the desserts the balance of sweetness and acidity was unbelievably good and I’ve never had a chocolate cake so good with the genius idea of smoking the chocolate. To top off our Brillo experience our waitress called Emily was nothing short of amazing, she checked up on us and recommended certain dishes she enjoyed so we could enjoy them too, she engaged in conversation with us and we thoroughly enjoyed her company, also the other waiters were great as well. 10/10 would definitely come again and recommend”

“Date of visit July 2022. Food and service was very good. I had the beef, which was very nice. This is a French restaurant, so they usually cook it under than expected hence why i asked for medium-well done. I got medium cooked. However a member of the kitchen did check if everything was ok with the food. The potato dauphinoise were very delicious. Great location in the Northern quarter. My only criticism is that its slightly overpriced.”

“I have both eaten in and ordered takeaway. The quality of food is the best around, its restaurant quality Chinese rather than takeaway quality. You pay for the quality. Portion sizes slightly smaller than takeaway Chinese but double the taste so its not an issue. Staff are always friendly and it's a nice atmosphere. Always great to go and watch a film next door at Vue before or after.”

At the risk of stereotyping, I'm guessing this is an Irish bar judging by the majority accent and the general friendliness of the clientele. I'll be back again!”

A lot has changed in that time and all for the better. They've spent a lot of money on the place and knowing the chain is in trouble I really hope they can turn it around. After today's visit I'm seriously considering becoming an Unlimited member again.”
