Let's call our heroine Emma 30ish blonde and beautiful. Calls in after a hard day's toil at the dream factory. Was greeted by the kindly bar serving folk dispencing brew fit for kings and Queens. I was set to leave when the jester walked in saying music and dancing would follow. Lady Emma danced and sang the night away. Even though she was unguarded Emma never once felt she was alone and was welcomed so much by the amazing folk of the Top Derby I felt I had to post this fitting tribute. X”

“Food was delicious and staff were welcoming. Pet friendly around the bar/restaurant area which was lovely as we were took our pup Daphne. Was too quick to start eating the food so no photo’s were taken!!”

“Great pub - genius idea - proper immaculate Victorian boozer (superb architecture) - as a student union bar. Tucked away amidst the increasingly impressive high rise MMU campus - it's a real oasis with decent ale and well priced grub (Inc selection of Pie Minister specials). Nice touch with a blue plaque inside commemorating Frank Side Bottom's last go. Well worth checking out.”

“Very impressed with The Crown. Came for an unexpected visit after The Little Manor pub in Thelwall was full and couldn't serve us. The Crown has a very pleasant modern layout inside which you wouldn't expect seeing it from the outside. The food menu was a little bit limited on choice, but that was fine as the food we had was lovely. The staff are all very pleasant and very welcoming even though we had never been here before. And most important and a huge bonus to The Crown they welcome dogs. This will definitely be on my list of regular places to visit.”

“(Oct 2022 update) Since last review new landlord now in situ. All change under the new team! Certainly more or additional televisions showing football when I called in. This is still a great local pub in Cheadle village. A great range of Hyde's beers at a very reasonable prices. Well worth trying to see the changes & sample some excellent beer.”
