“We thoroughly enjoyed our 1st visit to The Wycliffe Hotel, Stockport this weekend. All the staff are so friendly and welcoming. Our room was spotlessly clean and a very good size. The bed was very comfortable. We ate evening meal at the restaurant Excellent Italian food. A very good choice of dishes. Breakfast also excellent. Good choices. Cooked to order. Deliciously hot. We will definitely stay here again. We can highly recommend this hotel.”

“Fabulous cinema. Not the cheapest but easily worth the little extra cost compared to others! Membership saves lots over the year too. Great selection of wine with real glasses and tasty authentic pizzas. Reclining seats and double 'love seats' too :-)”

“We decided to take a chance & come here for a bite to eat before we were going to the Theatre. We were tempted in by their 50% off food during January. Best decision of the night, we will definitely be going back here. It is a big place and when we got there at 5pm, there were plenty of tables. 2 hours later, it was busy. All the staff are amazing, especially Thomas & Monica. We had the ribs, Beef brisket sandwich and the Big burger. I also had one of the cocktails too. The service is fantastic, friendly & quick. The food and drink was delicious. As we were celebrating a special occasion, Thomas, Monica and the others made sure that it was extra special and a night to remember. I was bowled over by their kindness. It is a place were I will definitely go for food when I'm in town again. I have a feeling that it is also going to be a favourite for my 22 year old son, girlfriend & friends to go for drinks too as it is especially appealing to their age group too.”

“Had a fantastic meal.. I had tempura prawns then fillet steak chips skin on … … the steak was brilliant and the chips were gorgeous.… husband had risotto starter then fillet steak also. The staff were friendly and cannot fault anything. Will definitely go back.”

“Stopped here for lunch on my way to Wales. Firstly, Naomi was an amazing host, very friendly and super helpful. Good variety of Tapas and drinks, some better than others, but all very good. I would highly recommend the olives, and the deep fried Brie, and definately ask to sit in Naomi’s section :) Well worth a visit.”

“The pizza was amazing. My nephew didn’t like the pear though. I failed as an uncle to give him one of his five a day. He liked the brick wall interior. The kids got a future in industrial interior design. He said he was so full from the pizza that he could not eat anymore.... the desert menu arrived and miraculously he found room for ice cream. Mint Choc chip! As an uncle I got 5 stars from him but 2 from my sister. Bad uncle for feeding him Pizza on a Monday night!”

“I went for the first time last night with my wife, we had been meaning to go for a while and were not disappointed. The manager chatted to use for a while and made us feel very welcome so thank you (sorry I didn’t catch your name). My wife had a couple of cocktails which she enjoyed very much and I sampled a German lager I had never heard of but it was spot on. The place is very well presented and perfect for those who want somewhere a bit extra for a drink, next time we will try the food as the menu looked great. Nice to see a great building being put back into a good use. EDIT: We have just been back and tried the food. As you can see I review the odd place here and there but this was up there in my top 5 meals ever bought. It was tremendous from start to finish, I eat until I could eat no more. Staff were brilliant once again and service was excellent. Thank you all so much.”

“Really friendly welcome to a nice pub at the front and then led to the back of the building to eat. Amazing views out over the valley and Darwen tower. Picture attached was the cheese pie and was brilliant, tasty and filling. Will be going again.”

“Nell’s is tremendous. The design and fit out are a real step up, and the ethos comes through in spades, plus it’s a fun space to spend time in. All the slices we tried were great, crispy base, plenty of olive oil and top class toppings. Draught beers cover all your modish crafty requirements and the rest of the drinks menu is well put together. Staff were super friendly to us. I hope it settles into Kampus and it deserves to be a popular fixture in the city”

For such a young lad to chat to us all (and we're different ages) was refreshing. It was great chatting to him. It was such a special evening. If we lived locally (we live in Plymouth) we would certainly frequent the pub more often.”

“Family run pub with amazing food and a fantastic selection of drinks. If you're looking for a good night out with welcoming staff and locals or a really nice meal, I honestly can't recommend this place enough. The food is all cooked in house and sourced locally, you can really tell a lot of passion goes into the kitchen here.”

“It's just a lovely pub. The welcome is good, the beer is very good and the food is excellent. Four-spice chicken curry with half and half chips and rice was particularly good. Have eaten here several times over the years and the high quality has been maintained. Worth travelling some distance!”

“Food is lovely. Expensive for what it is and somewhat over priced. The staff try and be too technical and insist on taking orders on ipads. They don't accept cash which is a problem when I have been in the past and the system stops working. The food is lovely so it definitely compensates although not something you most afford to do regular. Great for couples etc. But would definitely be far too expensive to go with a family and children. Although there is seating outside none of the inside is wheelchair accessible if you wanted to keep warm. Very young staff for the most part but lovely.”

“Good pub, great landlady too. Everything is clean and tidy, just as it should be. Darts, pool and beer, it’s a dream of a place. Great outside areas to the front and side allow you to sit in the sun all afternoon. Special mention to Graham behind the bar, he brings charm to the place”

“I arranged a surprise birthday get together for my husband’s birthday on 23rd October. Lauren was fantastic in helping me organise this & sectioned off the room behind the bar for family & friends. I ordered sandwiches for everyone who attended. They were delicious & everyone enjoyed them. All our family & friends agreed that the Norfolk Arms is a great pub, with great staff & a great atmosphere. Thanks for making the surprise party really special! Highly recommend!”
