“Absolutely wonderful pub. Tables and chairs around the bar but there is plenty of space there as well. Move away from the bar and there are a number of nooks and crannies to get comfortable in. The furniture is eclectic but comfortable and really does fit with the place. The pub used to brew their own beer but unfortunately had to stop. You will see a number of nice shiny beer vats around. To end, the Guinness was excellent as was the Adnam's Ghost Ship.”

“A friendly, off-the beaten track local pub, serving great ales direct from the cask. Very traditional interior, and the locals are engaged in funny conversations and banter. This was a great pit stop on our long walk. I think this was how all pubs used to be - a genuine meeting place rather than somewhere to extract money out of you - I hope it never changes!”

Food was delicious, everyone was catered for and commented on how yummy it was. Cocktails were fab too! Honestly, if you have a party to host or you just want somewhere to go for a coffee…(or something stronger) this is the place to go! Starters was a prawn cocktail with focaccia and butter followed by roast beef, roast turkey, massive yorkshire pudding, 5 separate veggies, including honeyed parsnips and lashings of gravy. Followed by lemon meringue and ice cream, which we ate a couple of hours later. My wife said it was the best roast she had ever had, and I had to agree. Well done the Chequers Inn at Heaverham”

But I was impressed more by the stylish service and the taste. It's not my local but now and then I want to visit here for their excellent coffee + food + dog friendly”

But the beer was the highlight. Harvey's Bitter from barrels on the counter behind the bar. Properly kept and served. Wish it was my local.”

Me and my husband had roast lamb. The lamb melted in your mouth one of the best roast dinners we have had in a long time. We was very lucky to be fitted in as it was very busy so I would advise to book. Looking forward to our next visit.”
