"The best service that I have had in a pub, in the last 6 months. This is a warm and cosy pub, with a restaurant area, and bar. We arrived mid walk , during the snow December 22. Despite the walking attire and boots we were warmly welcomed. If available I recommend the steak & kidney pudding."

"Out of the blue my wife cried out," I'm hungry, let's stop here." Well, who am I to argue with the thought of being fed both food and drink. I naturally obeyed. And I'm glad we did. It's a Freehouse which always means so much more to me and the restaurant side is tastefully decorated. With a warm glowing feeling to it. Harry, a young and professional man welcomed us, made us feel welcome, gave us the menu and told us of the specials of the day. Wine first... of course. The bottle of Rioja we had was of a good quality and sat well with my meal. Which was one of the specials: Lamb Cutlets served with a mustard based sauce, fresh crispy veg and potatoes. It was perfectly cooked and exceedingly tasty. A little more veg and potatoes would have made it perfect perfect. I would certainly recommend it to anyone going there. My darling wife had their burger, which she said, and I quote,"This is the nicest burger I've ever had.' Compliment indeed. Her chips were scrummy and she loved the coleslaw. Bearing in mind that this is a pub restaurant, I was impressed. I wish them luck in the endeavours."
