Emil and the team were friendly and helpful on the night, the buffet food was enjoyed by all (we had a range of dietary needs) and everyone had a great night. “This really is a busy pub if you wish to dine. Especially popular with the locals. There is so much history here and being listed as a Grade 2 building. You need to make bookings to avoid being turned away from their doors. Food is good and service reasonable. Food 8/10, ambience 8.5/10, service 8/10, value for money 8/10. Quite a hidden gem!”

“Incredibly cool and unique pub. The decor has been kept to a really unique old London style, really feels like you're stepping into history here. The selection of alcohol is quite broad and has a lot of unique and great tasting options available, particularly the beers available on draught and the fruity beer options. There is usually enough seating available and has some booths available that are brilliant for groups. The staff are very helpful and friendly. Pricing is about average for the area.”

“Great boozer , and unusually good and cheap pints! Sadly went back on Sat to watch the England Vs Springboks rugby, but they didn't have the channel so a few of us went elsewhere. Still a great spot for a pint.”

“Eat here often, walking distance. Phil and his staff are always lovely. On this occasion we were celebrating my son's 30th birthday, and we were able to use the marquee and not disturb the rest of the pub. Food amazing as always.”

“Let me start off by saying that good food...at an attractive price...is very hard to come by in our new gentrified Stow. It’ll be wrong to assume that establishment churns out fatty fast food, quite the contrary. Fresh n’ tasty made to order grilled food, pasta and pizza is what they offer, it’s their grilled meats is what really shines. Must try’s...... Grilled chicken burger(in homemade pita) or the Mixed grill, both scrumpy n’ yummy :) Also their drinks section is next gen spectacular, what other place offers San Pellegrino with your meal!! P.S They accept contactless payment which is a touch. 5 out of 5 stars for this place”

I have visited Japan frequently and I'm always on the look out for great authetic Japanese food and this place is perfect. I was also really impressed with the friendliness of the staff and owner. “This is such a love old country pub, the food looked absolutely amazing. There is a big car park so don't worry about it being out in the lanes. The staff were really friendly, it was my first time there but it will definitely not be my last.”

“I opted for the crayfish party menu with bottomless Prosecco (£45pp). The crayfish came with a side salad which was lovely and fresh, a cheese pie and the dessert was a creamy vanilla ice cream with strawberries. Food was delicious and staff very attentive, we never had to request a refill in the bottomless drinks and I was surprised with a lovely slice of cake for my birthday as a surprise! We finished the meal off with shots of aquavit, lingonberry cocktails and a traditional Nordic song. They do nice coffee too. I’d definitely recommend.”

“I love this pub! It's a local boozer and not a tourist trap but if you are a tourist staying in the local area I would recommend dropping in and meeting some locals. I used to live around here and every time I’m back in the area I’ll pop in for a few pints and food. It really has great prices on UK ales, great cask ales and smaller brewery ales too and usually a varied range of them on tap. I’d likely bet they have some of the best prices in London for good drinks. Also note this pub is in the good beer guide and cask marque certified. Food has been very good to excellent and they get it out quickly. Breakfast here is also very good and well priced with pretty much unlimited coffee for only £1.20. I will add the staff have always been very nice and generally attentive. I’ve been coming here off and on since the early ‘90’s when it opened. I totally would recommend this local pub.”

“Great Sunday chicken roast, and burger. The burger was a bit overly rare (and they didn't ask what I wanted, so I assumed they would serve well done) but it was very flavorful. Lovely service and environment. I'm coming back!”

“Allergy friendly food options! Great pub. Beautiful decor, flavorful beers. Quiet second floor seating area. And VERY thoughtful staff. We lost a ring and Michal searched through the allergy forms to find our number and return it! For those without allergies, I highly recommend the duck pie.”

“Great service. My son and I reserved a table for food and drink and to watch the North London Derby. The table saved for us was a long way from a screen and the place was pretty rammed, so there was no chance to swap to another. The woman behind the bar was very understanding and helped us move the table to a better place. Thank you! The 2-0 result was great too!”

“Became our favorite pub after one visit. Short walk from Albert Embankment hotels, well worth it. Stone baked pizza. Fish and chips well prepared, generous portion. Genuinely friendly service, quiet and comfortable when we visited. Worth the trip.”

“Nice spot with beautiful views of the Thames. On a hot summer day, you can be seated outside on the riverside under the shade of the trees and buildings and have a good time. It was busy but service was good and prompt. Food was delicious and we had a nice time here.”

“This venue is radically big. With a lot of seating space, both inside and outside l. It has a lot of character with its wooden/tiled flooring, angled full length mirrors and cosy seats. With plenty of plug sockets dotted around the place, you can easily charge up devices or work in your laptop. Situated opposite the New Elizaneth Lime on Woolwitch. Dial arch had a great choice of foods, and a wide range of alcoholic and soft drinks.”

“Only popped in for a drink and to feed the child. Honestly the quality of the children's dinner has definitely made this a place I'm coming back too. It's a propa old pub with some characters in there. Staff were so friendly (a special thanks to the lady that booked my daughter under 'princess') Really warm welcoming and friendly pub plus the food was excellent. Everyone there was having a good time. Thank you for this one off visit as I'll definitely be back with the family.”

However, I knew that when Arief cleaned the room, it would be done to the highest standard. Additionally, I would like to commend the reception staff. They are always happy to help.”
