Refined Male Grooming
● Open77 Denmark Hill, London SE5 8RS, United Kingdom“Very good gents' barbers' shop. Helpful, friendly, efficient and good value. I have only used them for haircuts, but understand they offer other services including hot towel shaves and tanning. They also have a loyalty scheme, similar to those used by coffee shops, with a free haircut after a number of visits.”

Tango Movement
● Open“When I first started dancing tango 18 months ago, I went around London trying out different classes and teachers but was not satisfied with the progress I was making. I then travelled to Italy, Switzerland, and Germany and many other cities looking for the same but to no avail. One fine day, I met David in a Tango festival in London and he invited me to his classes. When I completed my first lesson with David and Kim I knew this was the place for me and these were my teachers from then on. As I continued the lessons under David and Kim's teaching, I was making rapid progress. As far as I am concerned in terms of elegance and style in Argentinian tango dancing, there is no other couple to match them in London. Their classes are extremely well structured and David is a very strict and passionate teacher who never gives up on his students. Kim and David ensure that you don’t leave the class unless you have learnt what was taught on that day. What is important in tango dancing, like anything else in life, is the continuity of lessons with a particular teacher. It is a good idea sometimes to try different workshops but you need one teacher whose style connects with you. David and Kim’s lessons are not just a series of tango moves but instruct you on how to dance with complete elegance and grace. Above all they are the only tango teachers I came across who are not totally money orientated and are more concerned with improving student performance on a weekly basis, building great relationships with their students and show genuine care for each and every student. If anybody wants to learn how to dance tango with elegance and feeling then David and Kim are your teachers.”

Flamenco Academy
● Closed“If you want to learn the perfect art of flamenco then Ollie is the perfect teacher. He's a superb dancer and exceptionally skilled in his craft. He has a true passion for flamenco and this is reflected in class. As a teacher he’s incredibly inspiring and encouraging and I love his attention to detail (he hears and sees everything!) Ollie cares about teaching correct technique, posture, rhythm and he most definitely has the ability to get the best from his students. His classes are challenging and great fun. You’ll be fully immersed in flamenco, with lovely people, and come away feeling energised and looking forward to the next class! Absolutely recommend The Flamenco Academy.”

Corblimey You Beauty
● Open5 Saint Michael's Terrace, London N22 7SJ, United Kingdom“Came for a vacuum suction facial and was advised a high frequency one would be better for my skin. I appreciated the therapist talking me through the various aspects of the facial and what they’re intended to do. It’s always a plus seeing the cotton pads with all the extractions on there too. Well worth the travel there and I’ll be back!”

Temple Lodge Club
● Closed“This Hammersmith Guest house is a real find. It has a lovely breakfast included and the staff are lovely. If you are looking for a B & B in Hammersmith (or a B & B near Hammersmith) I would 100% recommend. It is only a few minutes walk from tube and the Hammersmith Apollo. I stayed in the garden room located in their beautiful gardens, it was so lovely and quiet, a little bit of chilled out paradise in the centre of London! I have stayed in so many 5* hotels in London but now that I have found this gem of a guesthouse in Hammersmith I would never stay anywhere else. I just wish I had found it sooner.”

The Black Horse
● OpenTumblefield Road, Stansted, Sevenoaks TN15 7PR, United Kingdom“My wife rang on Tuesday evening to find if they had any vegan options available for lunch the following day. She was told they didn't but the chef would sort something out for us. So we booked for 3 adults and one infant. We duly arrived Wednesday lunchtime and were presented with a hand written menu giving us the choice of 4 vegan starters and about 6 vegan lunches. Boy. Were we spoiled!!!! My wife and daughter ordered the Sage and onion vegetable cobbler. I had roasted butternut squash with walnuts, cranberries and pine nuts served with sauteed potatoes, onions and peppers. Our grandson had a starter of garlic chestnut mushrooms served on garlic ciabatta. The portions were more than big enough. The value was fantastic, less than £60.00 for 4 including drinks. Bearing in mind that we could have easily been told there were no options for us, the lengths they went to were incredible. We can only highly recommend this establishment. If you do want to visit and try their vegan options, just give them a day or so notice!”

Cucina Italian Restaurant
● Open“We had pizza, calzone and tiramisu. It was lovely, quite busy and lots of birthdays going on around us. Only niggle is that we wish the tiramisu was a bit sweeter. There is a bump/step to get over to get in and toilets are downstairs, so not particularly accessible.”

Café Amisha
● Open“Uanama bellll!! Top, Top, Top!! Cafe' Amisha is the best Italian Restaurant in South-East London. All ingredients come directly from Italy, and all the chefs are Italian. All the waiters and Paola are incredibly kind and attentive. The main Chef, Leo, aka "The Maestro", is impressive. He cooks traditional recipes from Apulia and nationwide Italian food. Fregola, Pizza (ask for tuna and cipolla!) and fish are top at Amisha's cafe. At Easter time, ask for a Pastiera, a traditional Southern Italy Easter cake made. Maestro's pastiera is as good as my mum's. They also have a shop for Italian food which has really good stuff and Italian delicatessens. The owner, Francesco, is amazing. He is the most friendly and the nicest person ever. He is a natural people person, always smiling and happy. He also saved my life during the first lockdown and the food shortage. I bougth everything I needed there. He and his staff also delivered food to my place at any hour, including regular fresh fish deliveries.. He is also actively volunteering to help the NHS and the local community. A living hero, in a few words. He truly deserves a half-body statue at the nearby SPA garden.”

The Hare and Hounds
● Open“We had a really lovely experience here after some very hit and misses (more commonly misses) in the surrounding area while staying here for a week. The lady that served us was French and brought with her that air of hospitality as a career rather than a job that continental Europeans have that makes for really nice service. Efficient, polite and warm but unobtrusive. We hadn’t booked but were seated easily although it was a fairly busy Thursday night. Lots of outdoor and indoor seating available and a kids play park. I was so so happy to see the menu. A few carefully curated items rather than a huge menu (which I always avoid where possible as you just know it’s either done badly or isn’t fresh). I was surprised to notice that despite the appealing choices on the menu, literally everyone around us seemed to be eating burgers or fish and chips! Each to their own I suppose but I had the confit duck, my husband the lamb cutlets and his father the mussels. We all thought our food was incredibly tasty and were so happy we went on and had puddings which were also yummy. We would definitely be regulars if we lived in the area highly recommend!”
