"Today we celebrated my 50th by booking the private dining room for 15 family members. I cannot recommend The Black Horse enough. The environment was lovely, staff were excellent and attentive yet discreet and the food was obviously made using high quality ingredients and was delicious. It was a big order but everything was perfect. The food all arrived together, orders were correct and a last minute request for extra roasties and a jug of gravy was no issue at all and with us within minutes. I highly recommend to anyone a visit to this friendly pub for a nice meal. We will definitely be back. Thank you to you and your team for helping make my birthday special xx"

"My wife rang on Tuesday evening to find if they had any vegan options available for lunch the following day. She was told they didn't but the chef would sort something out for us. So we booked for 3 adults and one infant. We duly arrived Wednesday lunchtime and were presented with a hand written menu giving us the choice of 4 vegan starters and about 6 vegan lunches. Boy. Were we spoiled!!!! My wife and daughter ordered the Sage and onion vegetable cobbler. I had roasted butternut squash with walnuts, cranberries and pine nuts served with sauteed potatoes, onions and peppers. Our grandson had a starter of garlic chestnut mushrooms served on garlic ciabatta. The portions were more than big enough. The value was fantastic, less than £60.00 for 4 including drinks. Bearing in mind that we could have easily been told there were no options for us, the lengths they went to were incredible. We can only highly recommend this establishment. If you do want to visit and try their vegan options, just give them a day or so notice!"
