“Best Sunday roast I had in years. Not sure why this place is relatively empty. But the leg of Welsh lamb roast is amazing.”

“Helpful and friendly staff. Chloe was great. Popped in for a roast and was not disappointed. We chose the swinger roast (a bit of an odd name) which consisted of beef, pork and chicken to share. The portion was huge and the quality was brilliant. Crispy pork, perfectly medium rare beef and tasty chicken. My bug bare with most pub roasts is non crispy potatoes. But the chef here really knows what he is doing. Potatoes were perfect. I will visit again soon.”

“This is my new favourite pub in Chingford. It has a large outdoor garden. I have eaten here a few times and I would recommend the truffle fries. They have a summer bbq menu too which I look forward to trying soon”

“Went for a walk with my Wife ended up here. Nice large pub with outdoor seating. Love logging into the app ordering food, paying then getting it delivered to the table. Went for the big breakfast, 2 bacons 1 sausage 2 eggs 2 hash browns and a slice of toast and beans. 11.00 pounds it was hearty and of a good quality.”

“Had a lot of time to spare between flights so we were looking for a place to eat in our terminal. Everything was fantastic. Loved the pizza, very light and fresh, and my husband also said his steak was great. Food was also reasonably priced, not a rip off like some airport restaurants.”

“Family of 4 with young children we are. Carvery Sunday lunch which was great value for money! The turkey, gammon and roast beef were beautiful and juicy. good selection of vegetables to choose from. Roast potatoes were nice crispy and not over baked. children loved softplay area of course! Happy parents with drink and lunch easy supervised from table area. 20 children max for softplay area if busy they do one hour slot for enter softplay. and socks need as usual rule of other softplay facility. We spend 1.5hs to eat and couple drinks. ealy lunch is better to let play children and eat. after 1:30/2pm getting busy for Suday lunch. We'll be back for our Carvery lunch soon! Thanks for Eddie who look after guests and keep safe and clean softplay area for family!”

“I was attending an event on a function room rather than the main pub area. It was lovely. Food was good enough, great variety of drinks, nice and attentive staff. The room is nicely decorated and very luminous and has it's own bar.”

“I booked The Snug at The Barley Mow for a client lunch event. From beginning to end the experience was delightful. We booked for canapes then the feasting menu and it was excellent. Top marks for the gorgeous bread and creamy butter, vegan shepherds pie and moist chicken. We shouldn't have fitted in the amazing sticky toffee pudding but we just about managed. We had overwhelmingly positive feedback from our clients about the whole experience. BIG shout out to our main host Belle who could not have been friendlier and more accommodating. It would be nice if they offered to save you a space in the bar if you've booked the Snug and wanted to continue but we managed to find a corner that worked to continue the party. Thanks all, we'll be back!”

“If I could give this place 12/10 stars I would. If you want a hostel, this is the place to go. I promise you that there will be great service, food, clean place, (especially Air conditioning, thank god) and each room has character. great prices, the pub below has great food and great prices, and the manager is the sweetest guy. If you are choosing a place, please stay there! He deserves all the support. 100%.”

“We’ve been coming to the Lanny for over 10 years and its a a firm favourite with my now 10yo daughter! Its changed a lot over the years, and although its lost some of its mismatched wonky table & chairs charm, its current incantation is one of the best. The food menu is short - as it should be - and the drinks menu extensive - as it should be, its a pub after all! Service was good and food excellent. A short throw from Primrose Hill, the Lanny is one of Londons not so hidden gems.”
