Spoilt for choice by the Amazing selection of products, fresh fruit, vegetables, Meat, cheeses etc. in fact I can go on & on!!!. “Enjoyed a tasty late lunch at The Gate with a choice of the tables dotted around the many delightfully warm open fires and log burning stoves. The welcome was as warm as the burning fires as was the surprisingly spicy Cajun chicken burger! Despite being sat in the end closest to the busy road; we couldn’t hear the traffic at all and really enjoyed watching the endless stupidity of many drivers through the sash window as we enjoyed our lunch. The pub doesn’t take bookings at all and given the carpark is always so full and chaotic it has always put us off visiting, but a break in the chaos gave us the opportunity see why it is always so manic; The delicious meals, the toasty fires, friendly team and fair pricing. There is an abundance of tables to choose from with a mix of smaller ‘rooms’ and larger areas like the conservatory. As it happens there is more parking available nearby that perhaps isn’t such a war zone!”

“Fantastic food prepared by Chef Alex. A husband and wife owned concern that offers a unique dining experience. What helps is that there is local car parking which only helps expedite your taste buds. Do not delay your visit, aided by a white table cloth environment. CHEERS!”

“Beautiful cafe in stunning surroundings. So much for the kids to do outside, the staff are so kind and the sandwiches / coffees / cakes were fantastic. Such a lovely cafe that we spent a very relaxing (even with the kids), whole afternoon in the sun. We will be coming back lots. Very much recommend to anybody in the area.”

The food was great, huge portion,well worth the £27 for two of us - two different big breakfasts, hot chocolate, a mocktail, coffee. I'll definitely be back! “We just went there after a day out with our 1 year old. The Sunday roast was absolutely incredible. We both got the pork and it was not only delicious, but enormous as well! The staff were extremely friendly, the lady who was serving us made a fuss of our son and gave him colouring pencils to keep him entertained as well. They allow dogs in there as well, which we thought was nice as nit many places do. Would definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone who wants to have a relaxing meal in a warm, friendly and clean place with friendly staff and delicious food. It has a typical, country pub style decor, the chairs were comfortable and the toilets were very clean. Only thing I would say they could improve is the size of the parking spaces.”

“I have been coming here for two years and never had a bad experience . Mandy and her staff know their clients by name , always have a laugh with you and make you feel at ease . This salon has been refurbished and is always clean and tidy . They are always up to date with the latest shellac , opi nail varnish, chrome , cat eye trends and more ! They always spend time on each client to ensure clients are happy. Mandy / Andy/ Becky always make time for clients and fit you in if your desperate . this salon is unlike others that I have been to . It’s calm and relaxing to visit, you can always ask questions and the staff are always happy to give advice on colours , nail treatments and styles (unlike most other nail bars who want to rush you in and out the door ). Overall, highly professional and definitely worth a visit!”

The service was genuinely 5 star, prompt and professional. The team struck the right balance of being on hand to wait, but leaving us to it to enjoy ourselves. Highly recommend and will be back to visit!”

“Amongst the best steaks I've ever tasted. We came for lunch with friends and had an amazing meal. Everyone chose steaks and thoroughly enjoyed them. Full of flavour, juicy, cooked perfectly and delicious seasoning. Served wuth grilled veg which I devoured too. Desserts were perfect. Along with fabtastic service it made a thoroughly enjoyable meal, will definitely come back.”
