Brendan the Navigator
“Delicious food, friendly staff, cosy atmosphere and amazing music.”
Old Fountain
“Uptown Carribean food, mouth melting chicken was ace. Veg option, chickpea and spinach was well balanced, not too hot but full of flavour. Rooftop terrace is cool spot to hang out. Real jewell.”
Lady Hamilton
“Lady Hamilton, 8.3/10 As we walked up to the pub we were unsure of whether we’d be there for long. It was late. Asked the barmaid how long they were open until. She said half 2. Huh? A pub? In K Town? Open until half 2? Why were we not informed before? From now on, we at northlondonpints need to know of these things. A boozer open til late. Somewhere doing a happy hour. Smashed up tinnies in the reduced isle at Tescos. Thinking of throwing out half a bottle of Buckfast? Send us a message first. If a can of Tyskie gets sold in the park, we want last refusal on the deal. We deserve this much by now. Let’s get back to the pub. Lovely place. Massive indoors. Loads of tables. Wood. So much wood. If you know northlondonpints, you know we love a wooden interior. And this place has it all. Tables, chairs, and the floor. The trifecta. Reviewed 30/08/21 on @northlondonpints Instagram.”
The Queens Head
“Happened upon this place by chance on a Sunday morning,it was closed but I was intrigued by the best pub in London sign, came back 3 days in a row,the staff were super friendly, the beer and cider was excellent, especially the Bee Sting Perry, the pub food was good as well, packed with locals on a Tuesday evening obviously means they are doing something right, animal friendly and gives a CAMRA discount, not a fan of cashless places as a rule but if I lived in London it would be my local, highly recommended”
Dockers Inn
“Fantastic accommodation in an area that worth exploring. Came here for a worktrip. Dockers Inn is easily accessible by tube. Had a lovely welcome even though my train had 5 hours delays and I arrived late at night. Room was spotless clean. The only downside is that the fan was scary noisy in the bathroom.”
The Artful Dodger
“An unique pub. When you enter through the doors you don't become just a customer thirsty for a pint. You become a part of the family.”
The Craft Beer Co. Limehouse
“Consistently excellent drinks and service. Whenever I have booked the upstairs area for events, the manager Nick and the staff have been very welcoming, flexible and accommodating. The pub interior is stylish, cosy and you can order Deliveroo to have with your drinks (while they are sorting out a new chef). Highly recommend. A real local gem.”
Sir Sydney Smith
“super nice pub for drinks and food. The food was really class quality. very friendly staff”
Crown and Anchor
“This pub is a little gem. We had a birthday for one of our friend. They were very friendly, the food absolutely delicious, never had such a tasty and great sized burger in a pub before, and in good price so hats of chef...told him too. Definitely worth a visit. Garden is lovely too. Big thank you for the staff.”
Anchor Tap
“Now this was the highlight of the day. I can't recommend it enough. A really old fashion pub, it even has a saloon bar and an excellent barman too. I would have happily stayed there much longer than we did. Decent prices, nice atmosphere and nice beers. Looking forward to going back.”
The Royal Oak
“Visited today for the first time and will certainly be back. It's a no nonsense pub that serves great beer and excellent food. I absolutely detest the endless array of revolting IPA's and craft lagers that have taken over so many pubs in the last few years. None of that rubbish here - I tried the dark Mild and black stout and both were excellent. I can also recommend the steak and ale pie which was full of tender meat in a rich gravy.”
The King's Arms
“I love this place! It retains the identity of a true pub. Friendly bartender and great beer garden. I love it for its essence. You feel right at home. No fake perks or beautiful interior design - just down to earth real pub ambiance that serves real beer and drinks. What more can you ask for?”
Royal Albert
“Great decor and friendly staff. Lots of different beer available too. Oh, spotlessly clean.”
The Man of Kent
“Went today to drink and remember our dear friend Linda Hemmings after saying goodbye, the staff were very friendly and made us feel very welcome plus the finger buffet spread was really good.”
The Crown
“Edit August 2022 - five stars. I have visited the pub 6 times and have found the service and food pretty consistent, from the first day of opening to some of their most busiest times in the evenings and sunny days. They do roast dinners very well, the condiments are as good as the food and I suspect they are freshly made on site - horseradish had enough burn, mint sauce tastes fresh etc. There is a good selection of draught, as well as soft drinks. The luscombe brand is well worth trying as a non-alcoholic drink. Soda water is also available by the pint which is good to see. As a vegetarian option (can't remember if they are vegan), the allotment salad is tasty and available as main or small plate. I have had it twice and the leaves have always been fresh. If you don't like much dressing I'd recommend asking for it on the side, however it is the right amount for me. I did prefer the salad to the veggie haggis pie as I felt the flavours didn't blend as well with the rest of the filling. If you enjoy meat options, I would definitely recommend the chicken pie as a hearty option. A nice salad option would be the sticky beef salad, although I would recommend taking it as a smaller portion than the large main. The steak frites was delicious, very well cooked, a tasty steak and you definitely can taste is a higher quality cut. If it is a Sunday, definitely try out the roast dinners, you won't be disappointed. I have tried two of the desserts, a morello cherry sundae (with popping candy) and the dairy free Belgium waffle dessert. I think that both were equally good. The cocktails are great, I also enjoy the hot drinks too. If you are looking to visit in busier times, I would definitely recommend booking. The managers and staff are friendly and hardworking, this pub is definitely a welcome treat for the local area. I'd say, to get this review to 5 stars, it will just come with time as we know the hospitality industry in under pressure and novice staff are undergoing training, which can be more complex than it looks.”
The Boleyn Tavern
“Went here on a trip from peterborough to see our son and daughter in law, been looking forward to it since it has been done up. The truly traditional makeover is brilliant, little snugs, great choice of beers, staff so friendly and dog friendly, even a nice traditional fireplace. Not normally a sports pub as such I an told even though though back to the days of the West Ham games, but FIFA World Cup screened at the moment. We all had a meal too, not Michelin but it is pub grub after all , the Chicken Kiev was not good, Pork chops great and fish and chips average.. however just a great experience and place overall.”
William The Conqueror - Manor Park
“William Rocks!!!!! Nothing more nothing less... Stratford to Ilford if there is any happening place is called Williams the Conqueror!!!!!! ( manor park Romford road)... Great Vibes Amazing people and very well priced drinks!!!! WANT A GREAT NIGHT AND TIME GO WILLIAMS”
Crown
“Great local pub, friendly staff and always a pleasure to visit. Great location within the town centre and on the edge of The Abbey Gardens!”
Queen’s Head
“Big thank you to Ellie and all the staff for giving us such a great time at the Xmas meal laid on for the elders last night. And a special mention for the lovely decorations.”
The Lord Tredegar
“The best (and certainly the biggest!) Sunday roast I've ever had. Beautifully cooked, nicely presented and a great selection of vegetables to go with the lamb. The Yorkshire pud was ginormous - tasty. None of us could manage the generous helping of roast potatoes. The waiters helped us to our seats to make it easy for our elderly father. The biggest bravo goes to the Chef/s- we saw three of them churning out the meals from our seats. Overall, top marks.”
The Virgin Queen
“Very cosy atmosphere, fireplace with a life fire. Best fish and chips ever.”
The Ship
“Lovely friendly pub. Beautiful decor. I found myself at a loose end and decided to pop in while I was waiting around for my car to be fixed. Glenda and Caroline took me in and looked after me and even provided me with a charger for my phone. I ended up being there long enough to have a gallion burger for dinner which was really lovely. I'm very glad I popped in and will definitely be back. Back garden was gorgeous too”
The Ship Inn
“We had a great lunch today...food was gorgeous and the young lady serving us was lovely.”
The Old Ship Inn Public House
“Nice decor, nice owner, fantastic food. 10/10 will visit again”
Kings Arms
“Lovely lunch menu, very friendly staff and a nice cosy environment. Highly recommended”
The Vault Bar & Lounge
“Great members bar on -1 at The Ned. Old bank vault with all of the original safety deposit boxes left in place. Good service, drinks and food. Very well done bar and nice atmosphere.”
Lord Nelson
“Amazing wild boar burgers. Perfectly seasoned chips. Generous portions. Nice, quirky atmosphere. Definitely one of the best burger places out there! ❤️”
Ye Olde Leather Bottle
“We been staying close by for last 8 nights. Just a 2 min walk here. Friendly staff, really good pub food and great atmosphere. Quiz night, and live bands. If staying staying nearby you can't go wrong. Trust me it was absolutely tickety boo!”
The Potters Arms -
“Lovely comfy room (we had twin). Not plush, but comfy. Slept well. Spacious en suite. Lovely& clean. We hope to return. So lovely! Good breakfast menu. Lovely friendly staff, very attentive. A good old pub/inn with lovely inglenook fireplace. Didn't want to leave & return to reality.”
The Station House
“I've known this pub since '97. Back then it was...odd. Acton was....scary. While Acton come gentrified, this pub became a hub. Has been run for many years by lovely Italian people. Pizzas are amazing. Venue amazing. Great beer garden, come summer or winter. I used to come here with my sons to grab a beer and relax, after nursery.”
