Food is amazing the mozzarella sticks actually melt and are stringey never chewy and plasticky. Comes quickly and hot always. my daughter loves the chips aswell whatever oil they use to fry them is delicious”

“After taking a break from this pub due to the previous management, I visited last night after work and was very impressed with the ambiance, food and great Guiness. This really in pub terms the equivalence of an Oasis. It's like an English country pub, but in Croydon. The vibe is relaxed with enough people to create a good atmosphere, without the craziness of other Croydon pubs. To eat, the had the stew which at £8.50 was amazing value, the main menu is pizza. To drink we had Guiness which was excellent, the wine selection is very good as well. The service was excellent, both efficient and friendly. The other customers, who seemed to be locals, were friendly and welcoming, but not imposing so we could enjoy our drinks and food at our table, and when going to the bar talk and meet other locals. Highly recommended for those who like pubs as pubs, not flashy wine bars, or sports bars, great food and drink, served well by friendly people with a local vibe, but not cliquey. For sure, we will be visiting again,”

“Dined at Taste of Bengal for the first time ever this evening and I have nothing but good things to say. The food was amazing, so flavoursome! Papadoms were offered whilst we decided on our mains and came out warm which was nice. I had a Badshahi Chicken and the Mr had a Chicken Tikka Masala, both had generous amounts of chicken. Sides included the best saag aloo I've had in ages, onion bhaji and garlic naan. Server (didn't catch his name sorry) closed with "we hope to see you again regularly, you'll always be very welcome" such a warm an friendly service. 100% recommend and will definitely be visiting again/ getting take away. We had 2 thai soups which were the best we had in a while, super flavoured, tasty, and the other dishes were perfectly cooked as well and very, very good. Everything was piping hot and tasted fresh!! “Ate in with family for a birthday meal. All the curries, rice, pappadums and chutneys were excellent. We tried the korma, tikka masala, dopiaza, bhuna and biryani. A few pieces of chicken were tougher than I like but I felt the curries made up for it didn't take anything away from my enjoyment of the meal. Service is excellent from every staff member we interacted with. One dish I wasn't very sure about was the Leemu ice cream. It comes in a very well presented pot so is fun to eat, however the consistency was harder and icier than I expected. It was more like a hard sorbet than ice cream. So whilst my meal wasn't absolutely perfect, I did enjoy the overall experience and felt that it was great value. Our total bill was on par with ordering from a take away.”

I collected the food and was piping hot, their biryani and dhaal especially never fails to surprise me, best dhaal I’ve ever had. I also ordered some butter chicken, korma, the jalalis special and one of their prawn dishes, everything was bursting of flavour, and you could taste the uniqueness in every dish, food was fresh and cooked in the time I desired, would definitely order again, thank you.”

They always use fresh vegetables such as onions peppers broccoli carrots and the wide selection of options on the menu is enough to satisfy even the fussiest of eaters. The shop doesn’t look much when you go inside and the food belies this as it is always hot tasty cooked properly and with decent ingredients. Definitely give them a try.”
