“Absolutely banging coffee. Best in the area. Even worth walking off the high street for. The cinnamon buns and Danish swirls are top notch! The shop itself is also well worth checking out. Everything from high end furniture to smaller quirky gifts and even fresh flowers on certain days. Favourite local shop that, I wanna reiterate, is well worth journeying to.”

“A great local pub. Thanks to the heaters in its garden, it is possible to sit outside even in winter. There is no kitchen in the place, but great pizzas can be brought from Yard Sales Pizza. If you're around, it's a must-visit place.”

“Had an AMAZING breakfast last week. The fresh juices are delicious. The bacon was perfectly cooked, really nice sausages, hash browns were perfect… 10/10. We came here as me and my partner were visiting his parents and they recommended it to us. Hands down the best breakfast we have had. The staff are all extremely friendly too and gave great service. “I stayed in Friendship House for nearly 3 months and can really recommend it. The staff is super nice and helped me out especially when I had to stay in quarantine because of Covid. It was possible to make changes to the booking only one week ahead which is why it was possible to spontaneously move out, when I decided to travel for two weeks. The rooms are simple but clean and there is a cleaning service once a week. Finally, the house is located quite central and has a yard where you can lock a bike. It is really hard to find a room in London if you stay for less than three months, so I'm really glad I found friendship house and in comparison to other accomodations it was relatively cheap (especially the shared rooms).”

We visited on Sunday for a roast and let me tell you, ol’ Rick knows his way around a piece of beef. Our generation may have been born too late to discover the world and too early to discover outer space, but we’ve been born at exactly the right moment to enjoy a delicious meal at Richard’s Kitchen.”

“The pictures really don't do it justice. I thought I had had "good Italian food" before but this is a different league. "Pineapple juice" never looked this glorious before, very fresh. That octopus! Wow, great texture, a satisfying bite but not at all rubbery, somehow with an almost charred flavour. Then that mash, with flavours something like garlic? Apple? I don't know and I'm not sure I want to know how the magic is done. Why spoil enjoyable mysteries? The risotto main is stunning, what a showpiece, also delicious. Took my time to enjoy it both visually and to dig out and eat the meats. All the flavours balanced. So light tasting, but so filling. (I am a little bit in love with that fish plate). ...but for desert somehow my stomach found space. Pear and ricotta cheesecake, maybe some subtle spice in there? Again wonderful textures, melting but also with an enjoyable chew. Lemoncello, made by them, gorgeous smell, clean refreshing taste. No sugary syrup. Very pleasantly surprised. I could never cook this good and I wouldn't dare try. My words don't do it justice either. I could go on. Best to just come back here. ASAP. Definitely, the best meal I have ever had. “We went there for lunch on a windy day. The soup did its job to warm up our stomach a lot. I’m not sure whether the kimchi is homemade or not but it ‘s tasty. I’m definitely interested to buy if they sell it separately. The rice tasted great with all the toppings. We will visit again for sure!”

“Absolutely fantastic! Hosted my friends baby shower here and I can’t recommend them enough! So accommodating with budget, decorations, etc unlike other venues! Food was delicious, everyone was catered for and commented on how yummy it was. Cocktails were fab too! Honestly, if you have a party to host or you just want somewhere to go for a coffee…(or something stronger) this is the place to go! Most importantly every staff member was lovely, friendly and helpful! 10 out of 10!”

“Enjoyed a wonderful lunch, went for the tasting menu which was absolutely delicious and reasonable value relative to comparable Michelin-starred restaurants. Every course was great, absolute highlights for me were the 'chaud froid' egg (not at all what I expected but memorable), the charred bream and the lamb. Humongous amounts of truffle were (appropriately) served throughout the menu! Cocktails were excellent! Matched wines were also very good and worked with the menu, but with hindsight we'd have been better off ordering individual glasses as it was better value and there were a couple of wines not to my taste. Service was fantastic - friendly and attentive and not pretentious. Really nice, spacious restaurant interior, not crammed-in like other restaurants. Easy parking for the non-drinker (sadly, me) in the party. We will definitely visit again.”

“I took my wife here for our anniversary dinner, this was a week day due to childcare and the restaurant still had a lovely atmosphere, enough people to give a feeling of being in your own little bubble. We had a mixed platter to share to start, it was fantastic a very good size with a lovely selection. We both had a Tagine for our mains, I had the meatball with egg and the wife had lamb shank, they both came out extremely hot and the smell was amazing, neither dishes disappointed they were both beautiful. I also a had a pear and almond tart that I would highly recommend, a great finish to a lovely meal certainly worth a try. Staff were great very attentive without being intrusive. Also gave us a desert for free as it was our anniversary very nice touch, thank you.”

I have lived in Tooting for 20 years and this is by far my favourite curry house and it's in Steatham! The Lamb karahi is the best I've had (excluding my Pakistani grandmother's) and the chicken wings are sensational. Just go here and thank me later!”
