Friendly service restaurant in Cobham

“Hands down some of the best fish shop food i’ve eaten and I spent my childhood in Cornwall. I ended up eating £35 worth of battered goodness in one greasy sitting. All human reflexes left my body and I simply devoured every last amber coloured flake of batter. The next day I spent the morning in the shower, contemplating the animalistic impulse that washed over me, undoing millennia of psychological evolution in one crispy bite. As much as I’d love to return, I simply won’t be able to contain myself if I were to go back to this chippy, I may devolve to a lower state of consciousness. Because of this fried establishment, I must contemplate a life without Cobham Fish Bar’s scran. This leaves an immensely sad feeling within me. I hope you enjoy their food as much as I did. As for the comments relating to the wait time, the wait is irrelevant. If you’re visiting for some stale trawler caught cod, then look elsewhere. The fish is cooked right before your very eyes by keen employees that exist only for us humans culinary enjoyment. They show a genuine interest in the customers day and diligently go through your order to ensure that there are no dinner-time disasters. This team envisage “Quae Sursum Sunt Quaerite”.”

“Have dined a number of times and never been disappointed. As it was bonfire night a friend and I decided to get a takeaway. The food was beautiful, hot, with all the right spices, making it the same as if dined in. What was exceptional was that 2/3 minutes after opening the takeaway bag I realised that one item was incorrect but as we liked this starter anyway we decided not to bother to do anything. However the phone went and panorama rang, full of apologies and sent a driver out with the item we had ordered. I said it didn’t matter but they insisted. I thought this was great customer service. Amazing food, never disappointed completed with great customer service by lovely people”

“We have been to The Ivy many times and it’s one of our favourite restaurants around Cobham, Esher and Weybridge. Great customer service and the whole team is always very nice. Fantastic food, well presented and great value too. We would definitely recommend this restaurant to others.”

“First time we had brunch at Fego Cobham, had a great experience. We arrived at 11:30am on a weekday, served immediately. The poached egg and smashed avocado on sourdough bread was ok, pretty standard, very filling. The Mexican-inspired Ranchero, on the other hand, was rather delightful: poached eggs, sautéed potatoes, chorizo, mushroom, jalapenos, smashed avocado, coriander yoghurt. A medium spicy, tomatoey flavour - just perfect! Generous portion as well. Highly recommend!”

“We had breakfast in Saturday morning. The waiters were very friendly and the place was quite busy. Prices are higher than in some other nearby restaurants, but the presentation and the decor is great. Hoping to come back again soon to try the dinner menu.”

“Room is newly refurbished and sparkling clean! Had a great stay here. The receptionist Kelly was very friendly and helpful however her manager (a guy with Indian accent, couldn’t catch his name) was quite rude and unpleasant to talk with, he was also not treating his colleague with respect.”

“Excellent one night stopover for attending an event at Brooklands. Room was clean, comfy and quiet; bed huge with a great mattress; staff friendly and the breakfast was delicious and plentiful. What's not to like? Highly recommended.”

“I had a wonderful experience at Leon Cobham today. I’m Vegan and allergic to Gluten. I spoke to one of your colleagues - Navik, I think that’s the name and he helped me choose the perfect breakfast item by making sure the ingredients were safe for me by checking in their Leon Book. “Unbelievable service here, very attentive and engaging the food was TO DIE FOR. Only minor was the sharing steak (pictured) we felt should have chosen a larger size as we both thought it wasn't QUITE big enough, our fault, not theirs. The wine (pictured) is some of the best I've ever tasted as is the garlic bread starter (pictured). Will definitely be returning but at over £200 for 3 people probably only for special occasions. “This was my favorite pub. We spent a great deal of time and money there. Good friends made, both staff and locals. Unfortunately, the manager, has no class and a bad attitude. The Runner is on suspension, for me, for 60 days. If it ever happens again, I won’t spend another £ there. Reply - I am not about to Dox anybody. We love the food, atmosphere and friendships. The absolute majority of your staff is excellent. A little bit of tact goes a long way though, as opposed to a “Shoosh”. You should indeed have a conversation with managers about how they deal with people, especially some that drop 500 quid a month. Thanks, Ollie, Very Best. Update - The Running Mare has definitely upped their game. Give credit where credit is due. This is a wonderful place where You will find kind and interesting people. “We had our wedding at Woodlands Park Hotel and the event coordination was exceptional. The day went better than smoothly and the friendliness, exuberance and efficiency of the staff on the day really wowed us. The venue speaks for itself and the attention to detail was faultless. We would recommend Woodlands Park Hotel (and in particular, Cheyenne Crombie, the event coordinator) without hesitation. It was a wonderful day, the communications leading up to the day were superb and the day went without hitch or glitch.”

“One of the best kebab shops I have ever used. Their food is so tasty and always fresh - their chips are SO good - well everything is good. Great for a treat if you're looking for something a bit unhealthy but their salads and chicken kebabs are delicious if you're looking for something a bit healthier too. Definitely recommend!”

“Christmas Eve dinner was fabulous. First time at the Fairmile and we had such a lovely and relaxing dinner. Staff were all so friendly and welcoming. Efficient and prompt food service. We were seated at the perfect quiet table with no other guests. A roast dinner can often be a rather drab affair with poor ingredients which ruins the whole meal or if the kitchen doesn't know how to cook it properly. This Christmas roast turkey was a very very good plate of food. Good quality ingredients. Roast potatoes cooked in goose fat - made a difference. The turkey meat was tender and juicy. All the vegetables and stuffing cooked to perfection - bear in mind this is in a pub not home cooked. To finish off - enjoyed the tasty Christmas pudding. Thank you to all the staff at the Fairmile pub for making our Christmas Eve dinner so greatly enjoyable.”

They had only just opened when we got there so ordered drinks, then starters and mains. Service was attentive but not pushy. The restaurant was busy but not overly so. It was a delight to have a "proper restaurant" at a motorway services. Hopefully I'll get to visit again; their romana bases are the best.”
