Food in Cobham

“Hands down some of the best fish shop food i’ve eaten and I spent my childhood in Cornwall. I ended up eating £35 worth of battered goodness in one greasy sitting. All human reflexes left my body and I simply devoured every last amber coloured flake of batter. The next day I spent the morning in the shower, contemplating the animalistic impulse that washed over me, undoing millennia of psychological evolution in one crispy bite. As much as I’d love to return, I simply won’t be able to contain myself if I were to go back to this chippy, I may devolve to a lower state of consciousness. Because of this fried establishment, I must contemplate a life without Cobham Fish Bar’s scran. This leaves an immensely sad feeling within me. I hope you enjoy their food as much as I did. As for the comments relating to the wait time, the wait is irrelevant. If you’re visiting for some stale trawler caught cod, then look elsewhere. The fish is cooked right before your very eyes by keen employees that exist only for us humans culinary enjoyment. They show a genuine interest in the customers day and diligently go through your order to ensure that there are no dinner-time disasters. This team envisage “Quae Sursum Sunt Quaerite”.”

“Have dined a number of times and never been disappointed. As it was bonfire night a friend and I decided to get a takeaway. The food was beautiful, hot, with all the right spices, making it the same as if dined in. What was exceptional was that 2/3 minutes after opening the takeaway bag I realised that one item was incorrect but as we liked this starter anyway we decided not to bother to do anything. However the phone went and panorama rang, full of apologies and sent a driver out with the item we had ordered. I said it didn’t matter but they insisted. I thought this was great customer service. Amazing food, never disappointed completed with great customer service by lovely people”

“We have been to The Ivy many times and it’s one of our favourite restaurants around Cobham, Esher and Weybridge. Great customer service and the whole team is always very nice. Fantastic food, well presented and great value too. We would definitely recommend this restaurant to others.”

“First time we had brunch at Fego Cobham, had a great experience. We arrived at 11:30am on a weekday, served immediately. The poached egg and smashed avocado on sourdough bread was ok, pretty standard, very filling. The Mexican-inspired Ranchero, on the other hand, was rather delightful: poached eggs, sautéed potatoes, chorizo, mushroom, jalapenos, smashed avocado, coriander yoghurt. A medium spicy, tomatoey flavour - just perfect! Generous portion as well. Highly recommend!”

“Excellent local vet who cared for our cat professionally and with great care during an illness that sadly led to her death. Andy in the team was amazing always explaining the situation and treatment options and doing his very best. He was also outstanding with my wife and daughter when the end came and really helped them in a difficult time. Many thanks indeed.”

“Love our local Waitrose, the staff are all so so friendly and attentive. Good stock on most things , I only wish Waitrose didn’t get rid of their own branded gluten free chocolate cup cakes in the bakery section - for someone who is coeliac like me they were the best tasting cakes I’ve ever had and trust me a lot of gluten free stuff is so dry , but not these!! Pls bring them back :(”

I spoke to one of your colleagues - Navik, I think that’s the name and he helped me choose the perfect breakfast item by making sure the ingredients were safe for me by checking in their Leon Book. “What I really like about the Wine Reserve, other than the fantastic selection they have, is the knowledge, the interest and the passion the staff have for wine. Their recommendations have been great, and the service, the charm and the options on offer are all excellent. I’ve even ordered and had them send wine as gifts and for parties, and really the people there are so helpful. So much better than buying from a supermarket! Highly recommended.”
