“Amazing coffee! We were over from Australia visiting my parents who live in hornchurch I use to live there before moving over to Australia and have always struggled to find a good coffee anywhere locally until I found the sip house on my recent trip back! The girls are so lovely and friendly and coffee is on par with the coffee that you get in Australia. Would highly recommend I loved it. I will be back on my next visit home :-)”

“As you maybe aware I’m a big foodie who loves dining out in the finest of restaurants. But when it comes to choosing wine we either go for the countries that we know or we leave it to the recommendations of the sommeliers. So with this in mind we wanted to broaden our horizons let’s say by learning more about wine in general ie taste , smell , tannins , acidity etc. with the additional knowledge of knowing what wine wine is good value for money and which style of wine goes with which style of food. So we gave it some thought and approached our good friend and drinks expert Alison Taffs at the Hop Inn Hornchurch our local micro pub to see what she thought and because it was only going to be the two of us if it would be worth her while. But after a little chat we discussed a budget so it would make her time and effort worthwhile. We gave her a couple of weeks to put together a format and gather some wines to taste and talk about. This led us to sunday when our tasting would take place. We arrived at the Hop Inn and our table was laid out in the corner. You could see straight away that Alison had put a lot of effort into this to which we were very grateful. She had laid out tasting note sheets , an iPad screen displaying various information and a list of the six wines we would be tasting. She decided that we should keep the discussion to european wines and in particular Portugal , France , Austria & Germany. Her knowledge was incredible as she guided us through the different stages of tasting wine. This begins with appearance which will include the colour. This is followed by smell , condition , intensity and the character. Then it’s time to taste to find out if the wine is sweet or dry as well as how much acidity , length , body and tannins. To finish you would decide what type of food you would match the wine with. We followed this by talking about pricing and what wines from specific regions when you look at a wine list are good value for money. This information really was invaluable and will certainly help us in the future. We’d personally like to thank Alison for a fabulous wine tasting afternoon. To listen to her knowledge and passion really was a pleasure and we definitely got more out of this than we first thought. I would highly recommend if your interested in wine to arrange a session yourselves whether your a couple like us or a larger group you will certainly benefit from her vast experience in the industry. We’re certainly looking forward to booking another session with her soon”

“I treated a friend to a nando s lunch for his birthday. We were served by Nimali who was really helpful in explaining the menu , the sides available and the heat options. She recommended buying a platter which was better value for money. The food was hot and well cooked and we both really enjoyed our meal. We finished off with a desert each. “The Drill opened its doors again today and I just popped over for a couple of drinks and a meal, both of which were excellent! I can't wait to sample the whole menu in the future. The new and old staff were super friendly and the manager Wayne was very welcoming and was clearly running a well oiled machine. Their social distancing measures seemed to be working well and it felt like a safe environment to relax in. Being a pub garden fan though I was most impressed with their refurbished garden - outstanding! See you again soon!”

“Very conveniently situated right in the middle of Hornchurch High Street. Very pleasant inside, very welcoming and the music system is not too intrusive. Nice. Would recommend the steak & ale pie with either chips or side salad. Very pleasant and helpful staff. I would say that Hornchurch town is blessed to have this traditional pub right on its doorstep and right next to Sainsburys. ROD UK.”

“They have so much food from all round the world..the smell of the spices is amazing. You have to take your time to really have a look at everything..they have beautiful desserts from Greece and the freezer section is overflowing with such delicious foods. I did ask for price check and was helped..but on a product availability wasn't very helpful just sent me to another section..but it's nice to see all the fresh produce and everything else. “I booked Shelley's for Fathers Day and was really pleased I did! I loved the new décor, especially the 'flower wall' and the beautiful mirrored pictures. The food was delicious and considering Shelley (the owner) was one man down (one of the chefs) on a busy day the service was impeccable. I ordered the chicken wings starters and lamb shank for main. All the food was piping hot and the lamb shank was so tender, it was falling off the bone. The side dishes was fairly generous! No request was too big for the waitress staff either. The restaurant was playing some fab tunes in the background, not too low and not too loud and there was plenty of room between tables, no over crowding and it was nice to walk outside if you needed some fresh air or a cigarette. I cannot wait to go back and try the pork belly and have a dessert this time (if I am not too full!) Thanks again for making Fathers day a hit for my dad and my boyfriend. Laura”

“We celebrated my friend daughter's birthday there. Staff is very friendly, helpful, and always smiling. The food is amazing!!! We ate pizzas and pork belly with chips, carrots, and sweet spicy jam. It was very tasty! The atmosphere there is very nice, interior is simple and at the same time very unique and modern. Highly recommended!”

Good portion sizes and that saying "you pay for what you get" certainly rings true here. Top that all off with a very friendly (and competent) sushi chef. A most welcome addition to Hornchurch. “Honestly one of the best take aways I’ve ever been to!!! The flavours are soooo good and authentic! The pad Thai with beef was just so delicious, beef was so soft and I could still taste all the flavours of the pad thai in my mouth! The boa buns were just the perfect texture, I recommend the chicken, the contrast in texture between the bun and the fried chicken was just perfect. Overall 10/10 I would definitely recommend. The customer service was also great, which is the cherry on top for me. Will be returning soon.”

“There’s something about the garlic bread at Prezzo that makes you go wild. The combination of melted cheese, fragrant garlic and crispy bread is impossible to resist and is the best way to start off a meal. The Tre Gusti Pizza was delicious too, but I’m not sure it could beat the garlic bread!”

“This shop is the nicest place to go for many reasons. It's a local small business so you are supporting them every time you shop but they have a range of great treats for your kids and for yourself. Last time I went in I got the kids rainbow laces and myself a white twirl. The workers in there are lovely and always up for a conversation. Lovely place, lovely people.”

The Coop Team Members (Adam, Mrs Nancy and the others)are very helpful apart from the securities are always following the customers as robbers. Last night an Indian security grabbed my arms without any reason and I said to him, do not touch me. All the Coop Staff know me as I am constantly buying in there. Even I have my Membership card.
