“So impressed with this little pub!! I’ve driven past loads and felt like it deserved a visit. It’s less ‘micropub’ and more ‘classy bar’ vibes. Great music and amazing selection of drinks. They actually have taps on the tables with iPads where you can fill up your own cocktails or beers, what a super concept! The decor is sublime as it gives the impression you are in a holiday destination rather than in a pub in Blackfen. The icing on the cake was when I went to the ladies. Never have I ever been in an establishment where sanitary products, perfume and hair spray are provided, without the looky looky lady! I’ll definitely be returning. Thank you”

“Wow, wow, wow! I am on a search to find the best Turkish food, kebabs and grilled meat in the UK. This as absolutely 100% 10 out of 10. The cuts, flavours and seasoning of their meat were amazing and cooked so beautifully well. Well done Elfida Restaurant, you did yourselves proud!”

“I have been coming here since 1981 when I was 10 years old. My father took us and his clients here when Valecci opened and me, the same, 25 years later. It was my eldest son’s 21st last night and this is where he wanted to come. 3 generations later and still the same classy experience; The food is exceptional, Enzo and his staff are the best in the business and nothing is too much trouble. If cost is your priority, this is not your kind of restaurant. If first class food served by exceptionally attentive yet subtle waiters in intimate and personal surroundings is what’s required, come here as you’ll never be disappointed.”

“Under new ownership the last few weeks, and now the food is fresh and really high quality, the batter has a lovely crunch and the cod really light and fresh. Cash only at the mo, but the owner said once it gets busy he will start accepting card. Very friendly owner. Let's hope the standard stays as high as it is at the moment. Will be back.”

“Really nice little restaurant. Street parking available around the area. Was a bit apprehensive at first, as they were selling both, Chinese and Japanese cuisine, as we had gone there predominantly for sushi. Needless to say, the food was GREAT!!! The guy that served our table was brilliant. Friendly, attentive, and always at hand. Definitely on my list of favourite restaurants!”

“Went in late Dec for a meal with my wife. The ambience is quite in your face so if you like a quiet restaurant, maybe here is not for you but they play nice music and it's not so loud you can't talk. Food portions are huge, which we appreciated! Ordered the shared platter for two with a lovely bottle of Greek wine. Waiters were pleasant enough. It's not fancy but it is honest, solid food (and a ton of it), with a robust party atmosphere! It's not cheap but it's also not expensive either. I'd go back.”

“Went to Penelope’s on Wednesday, it’s opening day. My daughter and I had the Penelope’s special pancakes. They were amazing with fresh fruit , syrup and clotted cream. The restaurant has been beautifully decorated inside and has an fab outdoor area. There is a farm shop which you can also access via the restaurant selling lots of local produce. I picked up some funky pasta, a baking kit for my daughter and some doggy treats . A super first experience and can’t wait to try the pizzas .”

“Always a nice experience staying here; the reception staff were very polite, attentive and professional. Rooms were in clean condition and had everything you needed. There was the option to have breakfast which I didn’t opt in for; the paid Wi-Fi was brilliant as well, overall would recommend this hotel as you’re definitely getting value for money.”

“Brilliant! Went at about 13:20 and even with the students around and ordering they were great, attitude of the person who served us was brilliant as well, very friendly and they smiled! Don't always see that these days it seems so was nice to see. Food was exceptional as you would expect of a Domino's, hot and delicious and just what was needed on a Monday. Only took about 5 mins or so before it was ready for collection. Definite 5/5”

“I went here a couple of days ago and took the risk after all the bad reviews(only 1 time risk). But now maybe it has changed owners and it's better now? As it looked like only 1 chinese guy was working there who spoke perfect English and I didn't see anyone else in sight. But anyways what i ordered was delicious which was roast duck with bbq sauce on egg fried rice.”

“Steven & Jo at O Vesu Van provided the pizzas for the evening meal at my wedding, and so many of my guests proclaimed them to be the best pizzas they’ve ever tasted! So so amazing. They were also prompt with replying to emails, on time on the day and couldn’t have worked harder to pump out the pizzas. Couldn’t fault them!”

“I am still wondering how is possible that komakai can deliver such an outstanding quality being a take away sushi business. Yes, you read correctly. We all know that sushi is not cheap. We also know that it is pretty hard to find a trustable sushi bar/restaurant. In London or where ever... I know about fish quality because my parents are fishmongers in Barcelona (enough said). And when you think your found one pretty acceptable then the bill arrives to the table and the price do not match with the quality delivered. That has been my main surprise with komakai. If you had this sushi served in a restaurant, the bill will be over £200 for 2 people’s dinner. Yes, £200! Please don’t take my advice for granted. Give it a go and you will be as pleasantly surprised as me. If you are lucky enough to live in south east London (or making a big enough order and further delivery can be considered) try Komakai. Check the pics in Instagram (komakaisushilondon) they speak by them self. Check my pics taken at home. Even my cat (Neo) realised about it! Bon appetite!!”

“What a delightful discovery. I visited Sidcup taking my son for his second jab and when he was done we popped round the corner for a bite to eat. We wondered passed a couple of cafes and noticed there seemed to be a bit of a bustle in this beautifully decorated establishment, so figured we'd see what it was all about. Pushed into the door and was immediately met by a vibe that lifted our spirits. Very welcoming and friendly staff soon guided us to an available table and presented us with menus. The menus were sturdy and well laid out. The variety was impressive. I wish a took a picture. Even though I was up for a fried breakfast there was something about the menu that made me feel like I was eating well. There was an enjoyable chatter going on in the place the whole time, it was clear the patrons were regulars and if I lived near this place I'm sure I would become one too. I can't praise this place enough.”

“Me and my friend have been here almost every day for the last couple of weeks for lunch. The food is amazing and fresh. The service and staff are lovely. We are planning to go again next Tuesday and bring some more people with us. If you are vegan they have the Tofu & Avocado banh mi which is really good. Everything we have tried has been good and that's almost the whole menu. Would highly recommend.”
