“Saturday evening in October, friends brought us here as they recommended. Quite busy, the word has spread! Family run, such great service, very personable team. Food was fantastic, all home made , authentic dishes. Lots of great wine choices, several from Le Marche, the family's origins. Bill very reasonable, too. Would highly recommend! “Got there quite late close to closing time and they still accommodated us. None of the food was rushed and it all had FLAVOUR, something that Pelican State did not have! The sauces was on point. Only gripes was that the mixed starters could've had bigger and a tad more scallops and a metal crab cracker. Other than that, I was fully satisfied and I will definitely be going back. Very good for local seafood lovers.”

“The pictures really don't do it justice. I thought I had had "good Italian food" before but this is a different league. "Pineapple juice" never looked this glorious before, very fresh. That octopus! Wow, great texture, a satisfying bite but not at all rubbery, somehow with an almost charred flavour. Then that mash, with flavours something like garlic? Apple? I don't know and I'm not sure I want to know how the magic is done. Why spoil enjoyable mysteries? The risotto main is stunning, what a showpiece, also delicious. Took my time to enjoy it both visually and to dig out and eat the meats. All the flavours balanced. So light tasting, but so filling. (I am a little bit in love with that fish plate). ...but for desert somehow my stomach found space. Pear and ricotta cheesecake, maybe some subtle spice in there? Again wonderful textures, melting but also with an enjoyable chew. Lemoncello, made by them, gorgeous smell, clean refreshing taste. No sugary syrup. Very pleasantly surprised. I could never cook this good and I wouldn't dare try. My words don't do it justice either. I could go on. Best to just come back here. ASAP. Definitely, the best meal I have ever had. “Warm and friendly place to get fresh and tasty cod and chips. My son always gets the savaloy and chips. Always more than enough chips. In the short time I waited you can see her regular customers are there and also people who have moved out of the area come back. The history behind this shop is undeniable and very endearing. May try a pie next time on my way home from work.”

I usually come here to get away from my home office and do some work. The fish and chips are just amazing the batter is so crispy and the chips are lovely, moreish and plentiful, recently tried the quarter pounder burger and it definitely won’t be the last it’s delicious and perfectly cooked.
